While I was here writing a paper, hubby and the boys did this:

I thought the way this picture came out was neat. :-)

Can't you almost smell the fresh dirt?

I had to get away from the computer and enjoy the outside at least a little bit. I did some weeding, and took pictures :-) Now I can't sleep, so I'm listening to the barge go down (or up) the river, sounding his whistle and I decided to share what's blooming here with you all.

Interesting, is that this tulip has never been varigated before. Can't wait to see the bloom, if there are any changes in it.

Here is the finished product, it turned up nicely I thought.

And here is the opposite end of the garden, The forsythia's were planted 9 years ago as little sticks. They've grown quite a bit. :-)

The Nanking Cherry were planted about 5 years ago.

And of course, can't forget my littlest helper. He rode on the tractor with dad, and when he got tired of that he was devising ways to keep the deer out of the garden this year. :-) He wants to stay up all night and guard it with a Cap gun to scare them away. :-)

Wow, it's spring in your neck of the woods, all right. Our forsythia is just now at the yellow buds stage, just ready to pop. I can't wait to see them blooming!

Put a coonskin cap on that boy of yours and he can be Daniel Boone guarding the homestead, Melissa!

MamaMelissa - wow, so looks like you might have some space for the baby daylilies! ;-)
