Is it me? "Back" Button doesn't always work at DG

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmmm...can't figger this one out. It's been happening for a couple days now, but only sporadically.

I usually tend to "mouse it" (right click, click Back) to return to previous pages but lately I get an error message like "File/ forum name/ can't be found. Check for proper name" Or something to that effect.)

Thinking it might be my mouse I tried the Back arrows on the tool bar (using Mozilla) and get the same message.

I can get around it by hitting the DG logo and returning to the list of forums so tis more of a new glitch than it is a headache. Any ideas?

'Shoe....I've had the same problem the last 24 hours....actually just last night and it hasn't happened yet tonight....but I've only been on for 'bout an hour now. I'll let you know if it happens again and I'll post the message here for Dave to cipiher on. Brenda

okay, thanks! At least I know it is not a malfoogerty on my system!

After I posted the above I was wondering if it was like a 'time-out' type of thing...as in, did it do that only when I left the puter and came back/or when I spent much time reading a particular thread and not posting? I'll have to pay more attention to it I s'pose.

Thanks for hollering, Brenda.

Shoe,

You are using the "Up" button instead of the "Back" button, I think. When you right-click on the page, you probably have an option for both "Go Up" and "Go Back". You should use the "Go Back".

Let me know!

It's happening to me too...I just thought it was bad mousing on my part and made sure where I put the pointer...I'm still getting it every now and then. I'm using the toolbar buttons...always do.

I haven't seen it in the last 24 hours. I don't think it's a mousing issue, Dave. I've NEVER seen a go "up" option. My mouse has the normal buttons on the left/right, but it also has buttons on the side (by my thumb and ring finger). On this kind of mouse I LEFT click the thumb button to go back and right click the ring finger button to go forward. The problem occurs when I use the "go back" button on the mouse. When I get the error I then try the toolbar Back button and get the same thing. As, Shoe said the only way out is to re-load the page or go to another page by clicking Home, DG logo, PDB, etc.

Nope, no UP button on the mouse/right click here either.

And like I said, it seems to happen off and on, not consistently so will wait and see what might make it happen.

Thanks.

It happened to me a couple times last week.I always use the toolbar back button. It would just say like Shoe said time out, ect.I would have to go over and click on forums to get anywhere. It only did that a couple times, then all was well.

The back-arrow button (in Firefox) wouldn't work for me at all yesterday. Seems ok so far this morning. I had just run spybot and thought maybe it deleted some function. Glad to hear it wasn't only me.

I forgot to mention I'm using Firefox also.

Firefox here too.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Same here. Firefox used at work. The Back button on the tool bar would not work half of the time.... said "Can't find file /f/dg" or something similiar. I am using Mozilla on this Linux comp. now with no problems.

Well I haven't had it happen to me again since Thursday night, March 25th. Maybe it was something flukey!!

Hasn't happened to me either since Friday. Darn goblins.

Mozilla user here (no piling on to remind me to upgrade, please!!!) and everything works fine now. Last night I was having problems with the back arrow, too.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)
