Shutting down for the day.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hubby called and said there is a bad worm/virus going around and he thinks I should shut down the computer. Apparently this thing is crashing systems left and right where he works. So until he calls me back, I guess I'll be offline. I didn't want anyone worrying (with me ready to go and Lillie being ill-she's doing a bit better today). Hope you all have a great day!

((((((())))))) Now you can get more work done! lol

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Chele thanks for posting and emailing. I would have been worried about you all day. Hope Lillie is feeling better.

Thanks girls. LOL Angie! Hubby told me to go ahead and turn my puter back on. Whatever is attacking is only hitting servers and certain programs and we should not be affected. Whew! I ran errands. Ick. All is well here though.

I was afraid you'd pop while your computer was off and we wouldn't know! God knows you can go any second. *knocks on wood*

How's Lillie doing? Much better I hope :)

You're so close now - we're all so excited for you and the family !!

Oh, and here I thought you might be in early labor!

The viruses are rampant. Wonder if the one he's talking about is the nasty that's hitting Outlook and Outlook Express, in particular: http://davesgarden.com/t/422574/

If that's not reason enough to switch e-mail programs, nothing is.

We just went back to OE after several months of battling NN6 or 7. I just was tired of the constant shut downs for doing nothing. They were constantly telling me I had done something illegal even if I just turned on the computer, tried to go to a differenct website, turn the computer off, etc.

I have Postini which has stopped at least 5 virus-infected emails a day for the past month. Has not gone into my system, thank God. I would highly recommend Postini which I get through my phone co/internet server for $1.00 a mth. :)

I have been using Incredimail for a long time..I love the availability of different stationary, plus the bonus that SO FAR..it doesnt seem to be targeted by the viruses going around..GardenWife, do you know anything negative about Incredimail that I should know??

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I'm not the one to ask, LOL. I'm not a fan of "bells and whistles" when it comes to e-mail. I like plain text for my e-mail, or simply formatted text with pictures if they have to do with the context. Incredimail-generated e-mails do not display right in my Eudora, either, so I'm just not a real fan. Call me a purist, LOL! ;)

There are some issues with it, though: http://www.langa.com/newsletters/2002/2002-10-10.htm#6

The quoted terms of use in the above article have been modified since that was printed. Here is Incredimail's Terms of Use: http://www.incredimail.com/english/termsofuse.html

I didn't even ask hubby how to spell the thing that attacked at work. LOL I know he said it attacked two firewalls, one being Black Ice and I forget the other. See how much this stuff interests me. I only care if it is gonna bother my puter or not. ;) He did say it was called wittyworm. That is how it is spelled anyway.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

They were talking about something on The Screensavers yesterday which eluded Black Ice -- Yes, that was it, Witty Worm. It's NASTY! http://www.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?story_title=Witty_Worm_Overwrites_Hard_Disks&story_id=23470
