I heard noises outside this morning. I couldn't figure out what it was. I decided I would look out the door and see if I could figure out where and what it was comming from. I opened the storm door a little and then I could see what it was. There it was the little heads of the perrinials whispering to each other and saying what the heck happened to the warm weather? They were trying to pull the leaves back over their little heads.
I went back in and took and asprin and had another cup of coffee and wondered if I was awake. I was
I heard noise
LOL :)
My grandma used to say that the daffodils were bowing their heads saying their prayers when the spring cold snaps came.
This whole weekend has been one long wind storm with 45 mph gusts. I can garden in the rain, cold and scorching heat, but wind just gets to me :(
It is 30 here this morning and I am even shaking in my boots. :)
The flowers have tucked themselves back in up here, it has been warmer then colder then warmer etc. Generally it stays chilly until almost May. Until then, they will probably keep themselves under the oak leaves and I will keep myself inside drinking tea and looking at catalogs.
15 degrees above normal here. I thought I wanted spring but this feels like summer already and I am not a hot weather lover. I wish we could just custom order the weather for our yards.
I sure hope that doesn't happen here (cold snap). We've had an unusually warm spring and the trees are budding, some blooming. All my perennials are showing life - and it's a little early yet. Hurts our orchard farmers here when a cold snap happens after warm weather. It was almost 70 degrees today, low tonight supposed to be 38. Very warm days, average nights.
My little perennials are wondering why it is STILL snowing !
If we could order our weather there wouldn't be much cold. I would have 75-80 every day, sun, only enough rain to water everything and keep it beautiful.
This weather's crazy! We had a nice, sunny day Friday and then rain Saturday...Then COLD wind and thick snow flurries Sunday. We were out taking pictures Sunday afternoon and some looked like we were in a blizzard!
Yet we also saw daffodils blooming. We were in south central Ohio, another zone or more warmer than our home. Lucky ducks.
