dogbane has left the building

New Orleans, LA(Zone 9a)

Just wanted to post a thank you to all of you with whom I have had fun chats, exchanged gardening tips or trades. Something has come to my attention, and I cannot discuss the details thereof, that has made me realise that DG is not the place for me. I'll miss it, but as a matter of principal I must separate myself from this otherwise wonderful site.

Good growing everyone.

Philip,
I don't know what happened but I'd be sorry to see you go. I enjoyed the few chats we had and trading seeds with you. Feel free to keep in touch.

Bummer for the sudden exit. Hope you work out whatever it is, for this is a great site full of all sorts of great folks. :(

We will miss you dogbane! :(

dogbane, are you sure it can't be resolved? DG is here for you when you need it.

From the looks of it, it was something in the MG thread? I wasn't around to see what happened, but surely it isn't so terrible that you'd toss the good things DG has to offer. There are constraints nomatter where we go, and I think most of us here would agree that Dave is quite lenient within the scope of his faith and how he chooses to run this site. Life's too short to have bad blood over small stuff.

Gee, dogbane, I'm gonna miss you! It is nice to have fellow New Orleans area gardeners on here. I hope that you reconsider.

Edited to add:

I got web-slapped myself a couple of weeks ago for using the double-hockeysticks word and had this terrible feeling of 'rejection' and just wanted to go away -- but the 'plusses' of this site and being able to connect with and learn from my fellow gardeners far outweighed those feelings. Hope you'll stay!

Dave, I said that I wouldn't post anything more, but I think you'll see the importance of this.

Many of you have emailed me to ask about my decision to leave. I thank you for your concern. I just want you to know that Dave and I communicated a lot before my decision and we understand each other's views. I think we are both men of conviction and respect that about each other. There were no feelings of malice on either of our parts - more of an agreement to disagree. He stands by his convictions and I stand by mine. That's all.

This will be my very last post. I'll miss you all a lot!
Philip
