last things first

Newport News, VA(Zone 7a)

when posting a thread, does anyone
know why, the thread posted like
in Feb, comes up first instead of the
ones posted today? Seems a hassel
to scroll down so much to find most
recent threads..

the posts come in sequential order, making it an easier read.

If you've visited the thread before, and read the most recent posts, when you come back another time just click on "skip to new" (located at the top of the thread). That will take you to the newest posts and you won't have to scroll down.

The threads come up with those recently replied-to up top. On the forums with a lot of activity, it doesn't take long for even a current day's thread to be buried on the second page or beyond. If you've not done so already, click "watch this thread" next time you have one you're interested in open. That way, whenever new comments are posted on that thread, it will show up first on your welcome page, before the forum names below.

Deller, Just click on Skip to New when you come on a thread and it will bring you to the first new post you haven't read. I had to find that out the hard way too. It does make life easier. And about the original post being on top, I find it helpful that it is that way because when I read the first post it reminds me what the rest is about anyhow. :)

GW's post reminded me of the differences between a "thread" and a "post". I was answering the question as if it was a "post" question, not a "thread" question.

A Thread is a Topic discussion (best way I can think of to describe it right now).
A Post is an entry by someone who has posted in a Thread.

My response was about "posts" and how to get to the new one (as was Kathy's response). I love the Skip To New feature!

GW's response was to Threads and might be more in line with what deller was asking about.

Deller, did any of us answer your question? (Sorry if I confused ya!)

Shoe, I didn't even pick up on that. You are very astute!!!

So thanks to you all for helping the the president of
the CRS club...lol
