A Funny Thing Happened on The Way To The Garden....

Schriever, LA(Zone 9a)

I stopped by Dave's Garden and Lo and Behold..I met an old friend here that I haven't seen in 10 years! We live practically just around the corner from each other. Who ever woulda thunk that you'd meet an old friend on the world-wide web? Too funny! Yesterday I got a real treat because she invited me to accompany her and charming DD on a plant buying trip for their business- they own a landscaping business now. WOW! I felt like a kid cut loose in a candy store, LOL. It was a perfect day in every way. We got caught up on about 10 years of life and discovered we had a lot in common - like gardening, cats, crafts, camping; even scuba diving, LOL. Many of you already know and love her...DGs very own JustMeLisa. Thanks Lisa for a wonderful day :)

Sioux City, IA(Zone 4b)

That is wonderful! I bet the buying trip was fun, fun, fun. Sounds like you guys will have more good times to come.

Central, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh how neat!!!! That sounds like a blast!!!! I bet your husband couldn't get a word in..... hahahah-- I am currently looking for a college mate of mine and have been looking for 4 years and I don't know what I would do if I found her! The spring is going to be great with the two of you "finding" each other. Have a great growing season! Tracy

Ladibug, Congrats on finding an ol' friend....er wait, not an "old" friend, I meant a YOUNG friend who was once in your past and now in the present. (Wheww...did I get outta that misuse of words okay, Lisa? Lisa?? Bet she's gone to get the frying pan to sling at me.)

I bet ya'll had a good time and a great trip together. Probably is just the first of many good times to come!

Crossville, TN

Well! You couldn't have met a nicer person! She is a swweet thing and wouldn't hurt a hair on one's head *ducking in case she comes after Shoe*

I'm glad to have another "friend" here in the Garden. Jo

Any friend of Lisa's is sure to be a hit here. Welcome to our world, where we leave age , etc and distance out of our friendships but revel in personal meetings. Lou

Lou,
What a beautiful description of our DG friendships.

Ladibug,
Oh wow are you a lucky gal. Lisa has got to be the friendliest person around. I was lucky enough to meet her and her beautiful family this past year at the Kentucly RU. I hope your renewed friendship flourishes.

Donna

What a neat story. Lisa is everybody's favorite! Welcome to Dave's Garden Ladibug! We're glad you're here..

Ladibug how wonderful for you to find an old friend. Welcome to Dave's garden. You couldn't have a nicer friend than Lisa.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

wow, yall sayin some pretty nice stuff there..

Ladibug & I had a wonderful time. She is a sweetie and fun to be around. I think my jaw is a little sore today from all that yakin' we did. Looks like she will be my new pod-nah in crime..hehe. When she got in the van-- as we were leaving-- her dh looked at her and said "You have the 10 dollars I gave you, right?" (you'd have to know her DH, very funny guy with a dry sense of humor)We laughed about that 10 dollars all the way through the plant nursary. I kept telling her that her 10 dollars wasn't spent yet. We giggled a lot and I told her that I would most likely be banned from her home!!
Such a neat thing to renew our friendship via DG!

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

ah-hem, Shoe, I caught that remark...you bettah duck and fast too!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Ducking here! *zing.....* (what was dat??)

Just wanted to add a note...Lisa is 'bout the YOUNGEST thang I ever seen in my life! She's so young she has to get a permission slip from her Mama to enter the playground!

She's so young they gave her a special drivers' license thinking she was just gonna use them little pedal cars!

She's so YOUNG why all of us wanna be just like her!

Why....why...she's so...well...am I outta hot water yet? :>)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

That's priceless...You know my cystah (fill 'er in on that one Lisa). Welcome to DG, Ladibug!

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Shoe, watch out, you are digging a deeper hole....

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Okay okay...
Folks, I was only kidding about the drivers' license part. :>)

Really, honest!

Had to say, it's funny to hear someone say "around the corner"...Do you mean by boat or road? Those roads are definitely not the shortest route between two points with all the swamps!

When you saw Lisa's post on your Welcome Mat thread, did you realize it was her? How long did it take for you to see you knew each other?

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Kim, I'm sure Ladibug will be here to tell you, but I think this is what she told me: She saw my post on the Welcome forum, didn't contact me right away, in fact if I remember right, it was weeks. Then when I posted about the commercial, she sent me an email telling me that she "thinks she knows who I am"...the rest is history... I also dated her DH's first cousin for almost a year and a half before I married Jesse!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Wow! That's just the coolest thing. :)
