Oh NOW I need your help.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I'm going to post this in the computer talk forum as well. I wanted to ask all of you that have communicated to me and shown your friendship for your opinion.

I am getting ready to start a new tripod website. But when I go try to sign up, it asks for my "user name" and then explains that my "user name" will be used as part of my web address.

So I decided to ask you, as I want something clever, with my name in it (doesnt need the 20x) ++++++++++++.

Any creative ideas? I know I've seen alot of creativity in this place.

How about KarrieOn

Misty - now "KarrieOn" might be a cute name for my People & Places page that is on the site.

"Karriemeback" might be a good name for the link to my old site, Melissa.

I did end up calling the website itself, "Karrie's Place". It is under construction, but you can view what I have so far:

Karrie,

Coming along good.

I like it Karrie
I REALLY need to work on my site one of these days!

Thanks Melissa! I wanted it real clean, not like my old website, where I used one of their templates. I wanted to white background, my design, my clipart, etc...... because I thought my last one was so tacky (too busy). What is the address for your website? I'd love to go peek!

Karrie, How did you get your own website. I need to do one for the farm, but have no idea where to start. Any information you or anyone could give me would be great and if you don't mind emailing it to me with DG in the subject (so I know it's from someone I want to hear from :) ), that would be great too.

Thanks, Kathy

Misty, go to www.tripod.com

You can sign up for a free 20 meg one there. However, if you use it for business, I don't think it is free. Another thing about the free ones, is visitors will see advertising on it (part of the free-deal). Eventually, when I feel like I can afford it, I will go get my own domain and pay for it, so that there aren't any ads for my viewers to have to see.

Thank you Karrie.

The only thing with Tripod and other free sites is, you have no control of what ads they put on there. For a business, that could be problematic.

I was dismayed when I went to check my e-mail at Lycos one time and saw a banner ad for some porn site. I couldn't believe it. :S I don't think Tripod will do that kind of business' ads, but you still don't have any control.
