Dave: Copyright photos from PDB

Dave: I copied some photos from the plants database and added them to my wants list. Now they saw copyright by Delisa underneath the photos and real copyright is on the photos. That is wrong. This may be a stupid question. Am I allowed to use the photos? Can I change where it says copyright by Delisa and add the real name of the person that supplied the photo? Or do I need to go back and delete the photos?

You should remove the photos and get permission from the person who owns the copyright before you use them. That's just common courtesy to the copyright holder. Whether the picture is reposted here at DG, or elsewhere, doesn't really matter.

Even better than that, however, is just give a link to the plant in the Plants Database, so that people can view all the pictures and other information about it, which, in my opinion, would be more helpful than a simple picture.

A couple of cents worth of thoughts :)
