If anyone is interested, there is a greenhouse business for sale up the street from me... I bought plants at their closeout last summer. It's a definite fixer-upper, without current inventory, but a house, multiple large greenhouses, and other equipment on 1.5 acres. It appears to be priced really well for Denver real estate. this is close to what the house and land alone would go for. Here is the ad:
FOR SALE - Golden, Colorado Greenhouses: 1.48 acres with well, tanks, and public water tap serving +/- 30,000 SF greenhouses. Fully Equipped. Call for brochure w/equipment list. 15 minutes from downtown Denver. $375,000. Sellers motivated!
Anyone want to be my neighbor? You could also have free labor! Me! I'd work for flowers!
Greenhouse business for sale?
Oh my! LOL could you imagine?? :o)
Sounds like the ideal set up I could be talked into that kind of thing providing I can salmon fish five days a week while you work for flowers LOL.
Dave should buy it with donations from all the people here. Lets see if everyone sent in five bucks that should do it. Ernie
That would be cool and we could all be partners in a Gh business and let Dave run it What do you say Dave?
Oh man!!! That would be my hideaway!! :o) Actually, I wouldnt mind working there!
wouldn't that be cool? Get paid for getting dirty! I could handle that! And wouldn't it be nice if there were a place in Colorado that grew the more unusual stuff.
And if I didnt have to drive to work, or wear nice clothes and pay for dry cleaning, or support my plant addiction, I could work really cheap!
I'd be happy to offer my services as a grower :-)
of course I think the price is a bit much...
where I live, you could probably buy the whole town for that sum.
Oh but it comes with me for a neighbor, which ought to be worth at least a quarter, and me for free labor which is
...well...you get what you pay for I suppose!
I will be the builder and tinkerer if you run the computer. Ernie
lolol yall are too funny! Colorado DOES need a place that has some unusuals. PLUS we could do "free" advertising for DG. :o)
I like Nick's Nursery but they can be very expensive. They need some competition. Who wants to take'em on? Then there's the other one off of Airport Blvd. That's a neat place. Not too many unusuals though.
BugFreak
Terre wow we don't seem to be getting many enthustiac partners. Maybe it's the snow
Snow? What's wrong with snow? You mean there are actually people who live without it? Poor deprived people. However do they appreciate spring without snow?
LOL terre I commute 100 miles nothing wrong with snow if you have skis not wheels . I do ok with the wheels but my road partners are sure stupid.
The whole idea with this green house is for me to stay inside and look out at the snow while I tinker but it looks like the cost of a share is going up unless the calvery shows on the horizon pretty soon. Ernie
And here I thought you were going to win the lottery so we could afford to do this!
i want some snow we never get snow here send me some but not now all my plants are up out side LOL
Some of you northeasterners hit her with a snowball! I've had nothing but 60 and 70 degree days for a week and nothing predicted but more of the same for the next week! Makes me itch to get outside and plant, and I KNOW I cant yet!
Grrrrrr
So terre looks like its going to be a limited partnership so hows this I will tinker and build the stuff will cook some but no dishes or hanging of the laundry lol. Ernie
