How to get into a nursing home, real quick!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Yesterday, I was having breakfast and filling out postcards to remind party members to come to a meeting next Tuesday. I was also fooling around with the computer.
I have reading glasses and they were hanging around my neck from one of those strings that attaches to the earpieces. I didn't notice I had dropped egg and mayonaise onto them so when I went to put them on, I got egg on my face. I was desperately trying to stop from getting them on my clean clothes as I had already dressed to go to work. So I tried to fling the glasses, with the string attached, off. The string got caught in my earring. So there I am, headed for the bathroom with the whole thing hanging from my earring, still trying to avoid contact with the egg & mayo, so I was listing to the right to keep it away from me.
Got in the hallway and my spousal unit comes out of the bedroom! I had been giggling about it and he wanted to see what all the ruckus was about. His first comment was, "I sure am glad the kids didn't see this or they would be pricing the nursing home today."

thanks, hon. That was the most entertaining post. I'm now embarking on the rest of the day with a smile.

That is priceless but have to agree with the DH you would be gone if the kids had seen you.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL wood! Had that been me, going sideways up the hall, I'd probably have smashed my head in a doorway! LOL I'm blind without my glasses.

Love laughing at myself!! No one enjoys it more.... good one

Those "hanging glasses" catches a lot. Been there, done that.LOL

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

That was hilarous. I also use the eyeglass leashes and I have done the same thing with catching it on my earrings.

I'm still laughing as I type this....

Boy, that took talent!! Still giggling here!! When is Act II? Wouldn't wanna miss it!! :)

edited to add: someday when I get brave I'll post my most disastrous oops! When I sent an email to my family with the details, my dad asked my sister for a few copies - said it was a 'classic' that he laughed so hard over he had to share! ...(posted as my beet red face is hiding under a rock!)

Well now ya gotta tell! I've got a good email oops myself. One of those ones where you're hitting CANCEL! CANCEL! as you watch the email go off to the wrong party...*shakes head*

This is the reason my spousal unit keeps telling people that I have a trout-fishing record in NC. The record is that I have fallen in more times in one fishing trip than anyone in the state.....

I have tears of laughter in my eyes - thank you for the story. I love your sense of humor.

I have been accused of being a ham; I prefer the title comedienne. But life has lots of funny little moments, almost daily if you look for them.
I used to write for a newspaper and did a humor feature on yard sales. I gave the disc to my boss, the editor and publisher to proof and heard her giggling all up and down the hall. I think I missed my calling: I should be a comedy writer.

Newport News, VA(Zone 7a)

I am no longer on the
old folks waiting list thanks
to your adventure lol
I had to safety proof the
bottles in my bathroom.
As you know astringent, nail
polish remover and mouthwash
are all the same color !!!!!
Well, nail polish remover stings
and the mouthwash tingles and
smells nice, but they have now
been put in a safe place.
Astringent only now for my face.
Just think....there are plenty
more can't remember sh**days to come....lol

I can just imagine taking a big swig of witch hazel thinking it is mouthwash. ~shiver~

and the beat goes on....
I joined Curves and have enjoyed the changes it made in my stamina, flexibility and arthritic hips. I've been wearing a black velour warm-up suit which is rather loosely fitted. On one of the machines, there is a round, rubber-lined center piece used to hold on with your legs while you twist back and forth with another part of the equipment and this is very good exercise for your waist.
Yesterday, when I went to dismount from the machine, my rather baggy pants caught on the upright part and I was hung. While I was struggling to get off the dang thing, it managed to pull my pants down to my knees! Thank goodness Curves is only for women!
Gotta go; I'm shopping for leggings today...
