All I got was a little red x :(
Why can't I see the article?
It Has Begun!
I think there's network probs cc...
It wouldn't load for me just now either.
See Mom and ginlyn, y'all are inspiring me agin! What a sweet topic for an article!
TC...
We used rose petals for "nails" too.
Great start TC. I really enjoyed reading your article. Looking forward to the next one and to seeing your work in syndication! Congratulations!
Well TC it took me a day or two to find my way here, but alas I did. :) Congrats to you for getting to where you are. I enjoyed the lovely writing, picturesque speech and the memories you shared. Congrats again!
TC, you could post them in your journal at DG and link to them however you wished, I'd think. You could have a journal category for columns and post a new entry with each new column in it. That way they'd all be in one place and easy to find.
Congrats, I really enjoyed it.
More thanks to Wind, Chele, and Esther! Y'all are sweeties!
What an excellent suggestion gw! Why didn't I think of that!
I've lost count of how many times I've said this, but I'll say it again: You should be getting paid for all the advice and great info you give out! Uhhh...put it on my tab please? ;~0
I'm off to the Philly Flower show in the mornin! Holler at y'all when I git back!
TC...
LOL, I'll just add a PayPal button to my member page here. If I didn't like helping, I'd not help! :)
GW is my favorite computer advisor. :)
Mine too, Kathy!
Congratulations TC, very nice article, keep them coming. Wish I could have gone with you to the Philly flower/garden show. Best wishes. Donna
TC your article is just the kind that would keep me coming back! Your descriptions are wonderful and makes me want to fry bacon for a BLT! Truly, you have a gift with words and I really am looking forward to reading more of your articles, please share them with us! Growing up in San Diego suburbia, I had a next door neighbor that had a 10 x 30 plot in his backyard. There is where I learned about black-eyed peas and sunflowers. His name was Mr. Wallace. His wife threw egg shells into the garden. Every morning during the summer I would watch him stamp them into the soil. Little I knew then, but it fostered my love of gardening.
Y'all do know how humble it makes me to read such sweet, kind, warm, and encouraging words don't ya?! I hope so, because it surely does!
I wish all of y'all could meet me at the flower show Ruth!
Sue, my Mother still throws egg shells on her veggie patch and flower beds. Although the size of Mom and Dad's gardens have shrunk considerably, the heart they both put into the little spots they have is as big and strong as it ever was.
It's so very special to have remembrances such as the one you shared Sue!
Thanks for egging me on!
TC...
Edited to add this little haiku that just popped into my head...
the color of spring
aromatic green of life
the garden awaits

Mmmm, we noticed the aromatics of earth the other morning. We slept with the bedroom window open and that sweet, pungent hint of soil was in the air when we awoke.
Ain't it a wonderful aroma gw?! Did it make ya want to jump right up and go pull weeds or sumpin?
TC...
Sure did! I am looking forward to those first spring thunderstorms. There's nothing like that wonderful after-rain scent!
I remember posting about the smell of rain back in 2001 -- an early post at DG. http://davesgarden.com/t/29979/ Wonder if that's all still considered true.
It probably still holds true gw, I don't think Nature has changed in that respect. Interesting info on the rainfall aromas, thanks for finding that thread.
TC...
LOL, I know nature's not changed...Just thought someone might have more up-to-date info on this one minuscule aspect of its mystery! Just ponder that - as much as we've learned, it's still nothing compared to what else there is out there. That's mind-boggling.
Anyhoo, back to your thread! :)
I knew you knew that what you knew when you knew it then would still be new to know now.
But now...
knowing nothing never can know anything, not that you know nothing...it is I that knows nothing, nevertheless...knowing nothing never has needed to know anything, unless knowledge needs not to be knew...
(Whew...!!)
TC...
My ears! My ears! They're bleeeeeeding!
Hehehehhe! ;>)
Ya Know??? Jo
TC, I enjoyed your article. Keep up the good work! Proud to know you were Kentucky born and reared. No matter where you go, what you have in your heart goes with you.
Thank You for planting seeds of Hope, Love and Inspiration here in the fertile grounds of Dave's Garden. Good Health, Happiness and Peace to you and yours.
Gary/Louisville
