I've promised a couple of y'all that I'd post my first article as soon as it was published.
So...here is my very first article as the new gardening columnist for The Allied News in Grove City, PA.
TC...
It Has Begun!
TC,
That's a mighty nice article. You have a gift. Continue to share your words and your wisdom and maybe, just maybe, you'll be rich and famous. :)
I liked this, its shows your easy humor, told us a little about yourself so we can feel as if we know you some and gives us a some perspective on you garden knowledge and skills.
Im also probrably reacting like a mom whos kid is playing the star role in the school play but, very proud of you for taking this on and sharing a part of yourself wich is a brave thing to do for anyone. Now your going to need to post your aticles every time until you become sindicated and I can buy the local paper to read it.
Congratulations tc, great job.
Great job, TC. Keep up the good work and post more of your articles for us to read. I am betting that your readers will become hooked on your articles!
And off he goes! Yay!
Luv the "handle", too, TC! "The Write Gardener"! Great!

YAHOOO for YOU!!! keep us updated on those articles and if i can help in anyway-pics or anything just hollar!
Wonder just wonderful!
good luck on your exam tomorrow too!
Great just great and I can (if I close my eyes) almost see my Grandmother's and my own dear Mothers gardens.
Smilin, Dcat, nathalyn, Ol' Shoe, kooger, nm, and others here;
All of y'all have played a part in this new endeavor of mine. I will always be inspired in my writings by the words of my best gardening friends here at DG.
I ain't really lookin to be rich and famous C, I already am!
You guys are great!
TC...
Way to go TC, I'm grinning like a proud parent right now.
Way to go tc!!!!
I loved how you set up your column for future articles to come. The people who read your columns will know where your heart is.
I know your busy with school and all, but don't be a stranger around here, K?
Your avid reader,
Donna
TC,
You're on your way to fame, and you make each of our lives richer...how's that? :)
Congratulations, TC! Please keep us updated.
OOH! TC....I am proud to be called "Mom"...even if it is only by adoption here on DG!! You have made me..and your REAL Mom proud!! Keep up the good work. Jo
T.C. I like the way you linked past and present gardens while at the same time telling how your own gardening had evolved to suit your changing ideas about what you wanted your garden to be. It might make the readers start to think about what their grandparents or parents grew and want to continue the family gardening tradition or start a new one. Congratulations on the new venture.
I like it, I like it, wish you could put that in our little paper. Maybe someday, "The write Gardener" will be all over the USA
Thanks for posting this, TC. The scan is really good and legible, by the way. I liked the part about how fresh watermelon, BLT's and other produce made the hard work worth it to you when you were younger (and now!).
Great work, congratulations!!!!!!!!
I have been studyin for my biology test ever since my last post and decided it was about time for a break. When I came here and saw these wonderful comments my brain let out a huge sigh!
I can't thank y'all enough for all the encouraging words. I consider each and everyone of you very special friends.
from out and around
to within my soul is you
shaping thoughts of love
I dedicate the above to all of you.
TC...
We are some of your biggest fans and cheerleaders, TC. "Rah! Rah! Rah!"
Hey TC you found the rest of the alphabet in that article. Just teasing. Great job your family must be proud of you. You will be famous before you know it.
yeah TC Congratulations!! a real writer!
We have some wonderfully talented people here on DG!
Great work TC!! That's a very readable article.
You've probably forgotten much more about gardening than I'll ever learn, but if you think there is anything I can do, anytime, just shout.
I'm going to start today collecting a wee pile of firewood sticks ;-)
Wintermoor
TC
Great job
Paul
Hey TC,
Great job! So proud of you!
Good luck on your biology test. I was a "non-traditional student", I know how much of a challenge that can be!
Congrats tc! You have a nice easy reading style.
TC....if I were getting your newspaper, your column would be the first thing I looked for. You can almost feel the love you have for gardening flow right off the page.
How can I ever really and truly thank all of y'all by just writing two words, "thank you", over and over?! It's an impossibility!
Yep Howie, I do know where the Ns and Gs go don't I?
Lisa, I'm not sure what grade I'll get on that test, I do know I did the best I could.
It was tough tryin to remember stuff like how chromosomes split, the correct path of the electron in photosynthesis, what percentage of a eukaryotic chromosome is protein, etc!
Psilo, yes, there's hordes of you talented gardeners, story tellers, and photographers all here!
Wintermoor, I can always rely on folks like you to help me remember stuff!
To all the others here that I havn't mentioned by name, believe me when I say your words too touch my heart!
TC...
That is soooo impressive!
Congrats!
S100, "the 10 best plants for this and that"...sounds like a good topic for an article. Can I quote ya on it? ;~)
C-chik, thanx so much!
I'm done with classes till the 15th!!
Leavin for Philly Sunday, can't wait to see the big flower show!
TC...
I love haiku, TC. Very nice expression of our relationships here.
Why thank you smilin! You'll have to ask gw to write ya one, she's better than me. ;~)
TC...
Congratulations, T.C.! You're a published man now :)
Truly, a very nice article and I hope you'll continue to post or provide us the links to your ongoing column. Great job!
I read your article and liked it very much too, and I wish you continued success.
Wow TC. I just saw this thread. This is wonderful news. I know a celebrity and I even got a hug from him at the KY RU.. ha, ha... I have blackmail pictures when you get on TV....
Keep up the good work, will you let us see your articles every other week?
Happy Day, TC
P.S. How's that bundle of red hair doing?
I loved your article. How did you get so far from KY? I can remember huge veggie gardens of my grandparents too. It is odd that I like to plant cosmos and zinna because they did.
Good Luck
Teresa in KY
Thanx Morph, ZZ, MM, and TinKY!
First...Morph, The Allied News has a Website but as is the case with many other newspaper's Websites, you have to pay a subscription to read full articles. I haven't checked to see if they'll be adding my column to their site or not. I will continue posting my articles here for y'all to read though. But I should check in with Dave about it and make sure it's okay.
ZZ, continued success would be nice. But it's folks like you that have provided me with successful inspiration beforehand!
MM, I'm still just an old Kentucky hillbilly at heart. You can take the man outta Kentucky, but you cain't take Kentucky outta the man!
Carson is doin just fine. DS told me she's startin to make those first angelic baby cooin sounds. I'm sure you've heard them too, as have all who've been around babies.
TinKY, I'm humbled...
I got this far away when a pipeline company I worked for in Gabe, Kentucky shut down their facilities. They offered transfers and bein that I was a ways down on the seniority list, this area was the closest place within the company that had an opening. That was way back in '88. Lots more has happened since...
TC...
Cosmos! AH! Sweet memories. When my cousins and I would play "dress up" we'd go raid the Cosmos patch and pull petals off to make long fingernails. Lick and stick!! And since they came in so many shades of pinks, we each had a different color!! Ginlyn, sgtdot, maryK, lizH...do you remember doing this?? Jo
I sure do Jo.....LOL
Those were the good old days ! Also remember using daisies for eggs in an old frying pan. You can pretend a lot with flowers.
