Judy
Judy,he is a member at BGI.If you are a member there you can contact him through the site.Sorry,I don't have his email address handy.
Wonderful, Thank you so very much!!!
Judy
Actually, he asked Dave to remove him as I'm sure you know.
No I didn't KNOW. For all I knew he could have passed away.
I had looked at Dave's PDB in July 2004 but only became a subscriber the end of September 2004. I don't know anything that went on before that time and certainly do not care to know NOW.
This was his last thread, therefore I utilized it to ask how to contact him. His Datura seeds and pod pictures are WONDERFUL and I would like permission to use them in a project I'm doing!!
If anyone was pictures of Datura seeds, pods and flowers they are willing to give me permission to use it would be appreciated.
Hi Judy,
I don' t have Ludgers e-mail address present, but it might be, that tiG from BGI still has it or can contact Ludger to get into contact with you.
If you can not come into contact with him I you are velcome to use some of my pictures, but try and see, if you can come into contact with him first as I can tell, that you really like his photos :)
best wishes for your project
Tonny

Thanks Judy
Tonny - you wrote "It was D. tatula x D. quercifolia, one of many experiments from Sorø in the '90's"
It is beautiful!!! I would love to read more about this. Do you know more or can you point me toward a website that contains this info?
Judy
I love it when iffy stuff ends up on a high note!!! Happy days are here again.
Judy, back in the 1980' s when I became interested in Datura, there was no prevailing theory about Datura taxonomy and nomenclature. Different botanical gardens acknowledged different theories in the literature and that caused a lot of confusion of species names, which still exist today. I can not say, that my writings influenced the situation, though, it have inspired a few, that was in a position to alter things to the better. Here is a link :)

Sherry, I made another cross, that have the same bluish hue. It was probably not prettier, but had a much bigger flower. As the previous hybrid, it doesn' t exist today. I named it 'Heavenly Blue' It was D. meteloides x D. wrightii ... which to many botanists today unfortunately are considered one and the same species ... :(
... lol Every time that I think, that the manuscript is done and there is nothing more to ad the reality play tricks on me. A book will alsoways be a lackfull reflexion of the reality. There is already two new discoveries to ad to a future edition. A forma of D. stramonium is called 'inermis' and have a fruit without or with short, deformed spines. It is currently thought, that such forms only exist for D. stramonium, but I found them in D. metel, meteloides, wrightii and D. inoxia as well. Also a stramonium form called 'labilis' is thought only to exist in the white flowered form, but I grew a lavender flowered 'labilis' form last year. Labilis is described as having both smooth and spiny fruits all on the same plant.
How beautiful!! Thanks for the link, I'll go there now.
Judy
Thank you so much Tonny, that is absolutely exquisite!!!
