Well I did some cleaning out in the yard today. Followed by cooking out on the gril. Now I have a nice fire going and am sitting on the patio with my laptop and a cold blue soda. Anyone care to join me. Sure is a pretty night. It's 42 out but the fire is nice and warm.
Saturday yard work
Howie...save me a spot...I'm bringing the makins for 'Smores! Jo
Come on over fires nice and warm and the stars are brighly shining.
I'm here right with ya! Pass the soda!
Just happen to have couple hot dogs in my pick-em-up truck too. Let me get them and a couple sticks.
Ok now were talking. Hotdogs smores blue soda. I think were all set.
Just did a U-turn and had to come back in and peek at Howie's front porch.
Brought some Fritos, too! The 'real' kind, not them big square ones! Also some dip! Now all we need is a good fishing tale/tail. Howie, any catfish up that way?
Did you say fish Shoe? I got some fresh homemade fish dip (smoked marlin, garlic, onion, worstershire sauce and other secret ingrediments) and crackers. May I stop by Howie?
We got catfish a plenty here. All we have to do is catch em. I believe the record was caught out of the licking river and was 86 pounds. Not sure if that was the ohio record or the river record. My battery is going dead so Ill see you all later when I get inside.
My favorite stuff to smoke is salmon. DW will buy me some and ask, "Should I freeze this?" I say, "put it in the fridge, I'll fire up the smoker tomorrow." Mesquite works great as does apple chips. Up here it's "C'mon by and take a load off". Means come in for a visit and relax. If you get too drunk we have a nice room and a warm dog who will love you anyway.Frank
Molly, them sound like some purty good ingredients! I'd eat em!
Frankay, I near 'bout gave up on salmon (I've eaten so much of it), however, never had it smoked. Might like to try that. (Used to luv smoked mullet when I lived in Fla. Smoked it in an old converted fridgerator.)
Funny I should notice you're in Maine...my Outlaws are here and spend lots of time up that way when the weather is not frozen.
Shoe, last I heard, the Outlaws lived over here in Dania off Griffin Road........or do you really mean in-laws? LOL
Griffin Road? Now that's an unusual name for a road!
Outlaws. Inlaws. I reckon all of us must be one or t'other, eh?
I've been sick with a cold and staying inside, but he wanted something to do. Boy, I have to tell y'all, Howie worked his butt off out in the yard today and I'm so thankful for everything he did. :)
He did some grading at the foundation today and the cement squares EverDry left propped up against the mounded dirt along the house are now laying flat on the ground so we can walk on them. He cleaned up the patio area, too. It's so NICE!
When I looked out the window earlier, he was asleep on a cushion in front of the outdoor fireplace. He woke up and posted right before his battery pooped out on him.
A warm dog who loves you anyway. Sounds inviting Frank.
Well the blue soda held it off last night but boy am I sore today.
Blue soda? That's gotta be mighty cold!
Preferably. :>)
That's the only way in my book. I know some people who like it warm though. Uck!
Some webmasters....LOL!
Ok the dumb Yankee doesn't know anything about "Blue Soda". Do you know what a Jonestown cooler is, or Skip n go naked? I've heard of a Blue Hawaii.
There's a certain brand of brew with a blue label, and a certain bearded storyteller at DG who coined the phrase "Blue Soda" for those brews. :)
PBR? My favorite brain cell destroyer/restorer. Nothing beats good bourbon. I bet Dave will let you say a brand name. GW is teasing me. I'll tell Howie on you!
It's the presidents favorite beer or at least it should be.
HAH! Very good , Howie! Sheesh!
Frankay, Nope, it ain't PBR. This one has a much prettier pic on the can! By the way, I am one of the few who, like you, know what a Skip an' Go Naked is...(I took a bartender course once, probably just for the fact that we had to drink what we learned to make each nite. I usually walked home back then.)
Hope you're feeling better, Howie! (GW ain't gonna get a lick of work outta him 'til July now!) ;>)
I'm getting there Shoe. I would like to do a little more this Saturday but we will see.
Let's see, the Pres. is from the "Lone Star" state.
Today we had a tree branch from the across-the-street neighbor's old tree fall on our Buick. The car's not badly damaged, just some dents on the hood.
It reminded us how badly we need to get the trees in front of our house removed. That's not a Howie Saturday job, though! Gotta get some estimates and figure out how to do this - hope our two neighbors will pony up some money since the trees are planted right on the property lines.
Not from where he is Frank but more of his name.

Isn't there sposed to be snow in Ohio at this time of year?
Now if ya had some 'Red Pop',I'd bring a couple logs for that fire!
Lookin good there Howie!!!I bet you were sore!
Snow? It was 74 F today. But at last they are calling for snow Sunday. Now that is true Ohio weather. Wait 15 minutes and it will change.
GW, what kind of trees? Up here we have guys who will pay you for the wood. Howie you got me, but GWB doesn't have a "c" in the last name. I believe he stopped drinking before the advent of the 30-pack. and ditto Molly, you guys out of snow?
Busch Beer. Blue can cold snowy mountains for the picture.
For the moment we are out of snow. They are calling for it Sunday.
Yep Frankey, We haven't had snow down here since 1977
