how to upload pictures

how do you upload pictures in the threads and data base? I'm a newbie at the computer so please be patient with me~!

click the browse button (below where you type your message) and navigate to the folder that you have your jpg saved to, click the pic you want.

To expand on Karrie's correct answer just a bit:

When you start a new thread, or want to post an image to an existing thread, you'll find a "browse" button beneath the text box where you'll type your accompanying message.

Click on the "browse" button to search your hard drive (or redirect it to wherever your images are stored.) This will open a separate, smaller window.

Find the correct image, and click "open" within that window. That will copy the file's path to the area next to that "Browse" button.

Now press "preview" to make sure it's the correct image. If it isn't, you can press your "back" button to go back and start all over. If it is the correct image, you'll need to be sure you've typed something in the text box, then you'll see the "Send" option, which you must click to submit the image.

The Plants Database works much the same way - find the entry for the image you wish to submit, scroll down past the details and any comments about the plant until you find a link to "add a photo to this entry". Click on it, and you'll go through the same process as above.

The only difference is that you should carefully read the disclaimer and check/uncheck the box according to whether or not you hold the copyright to the image, and be sure you wait until you get a message indicating your image was successfully uploaded - if you press your "back" button before then, the image won't load properly.

Thanks Terry! I was kind of wondering, later, if I should have expanded more! A few people get overwhelmed with too many directions, but I kinda thought I'd not explained it thoroughly enough, as when I re-read the original post, Anahi said she was a newbie on computers. I wondered at that point if he or she (don't know) knows how to make folders on the computer and save to particular folders, have a filing system, and know how to navigate through it.

Congrats Anahi! Now you know more about computers than most people (I'm not exagerating!) :)
