Hi everyone. I haven't tuned in to Dave's Garden for awhile. How does life get so busy? Well, now I need some advice. For Mother's day last year, my family got me a "Yucca Cane" plant. Full name: Dracaena yucca elephantipes. We were told it would work for indoors and could be placed right in front of a window. We were told to keep the soil moderately moist.
OK, the foilage is all turning yellow and dying. At the top of one of the canes there is about 1 1/2 inches of black. One cane is totally soft and basically rootless.
Can I plant it outside to save it? I'm thinking it needs to come away from the direct light. I know I do not over water...Does anyone have any advice or know lots about this plant? It is still cold at night here, 32 degrees this morn....What to do? Thanks to anyone for helping me.
Help!!
During the winter time i keep this plant indoors. and outside by the open porch in the summer time.
i barely water them during the winter time... only when they are dry.
hope this link help u http://www.plantoftheweek.org/week188.shtml
I have only seen them outdoors. I also know they don't like too much water - they love the desert environment.
