U.S.A. grown tomatoes really aren't

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Recently I bought some slicer tomatoes that had been packaged by 3Generations Company of Park Hills, MO. On the underside of each tomato (so it was not visible) was a sticker which identified it as a greenhouse tomato raised in MEXICO. This kind of false advertising makes me really angry.

Reminds me of my DH cousin. He used to watch them unload ships on the west coast and then see Made in USA stickers on them at Wallyworld. Probably happens all the time!

If your concerned about tomatoes, better check the rest of the produce this time of year. Everything south of the good old USA is in a summer mode. South America grows lots of goodies to ship north. They don't have the checks & balances on pesticides that we do.

It isn't just that the tomatoes and other produce are grown in other countries that makes me so angry. It's having them passed off as grown in the U.S.A. I'm going to call the company this week and tell them I know and am telling everyone I can about this. I may contact the BBB.
