Email thread

Dave is it possible to add an email link at the top of a thread with the watch/unwatch thread, print, etc. options?
It would be so handy to be able to email a whole thread.

That wouldn't be possible since threads are only available to subscribers, so only the first post could be sent via email...

Thought I'd ask....was actually thinking of sending to members. Thought it would be a quick way of forwarding the information found in a thread.
Thanks for the reply!

Lilypon, you could always e-mail the hyperlink for a thread to a person -- here's how to copy a hyperlink, if you don't know: http://davesgarden.com/j/viewentry/10202/

Thanks gardenwife....would a member then be able to "see" the whole thread from the emailed hyperlink?

Wouldn't this take care of it?:

Don't know about incredimail; in Netscape it's like this:

I think that given the choice between sending a link or sending a webpage as an attachment (which is what some browsers do when you do the "send page"), sending the link by itself is preferable. Not all e-mail programs display HTML e-mail very well, and many prefer plain text messages both for readability and file size.

That's what I was trying to say by circling / highlighting as I did.

Thank you for the detailed instructions Ulrich and gardenwife.......I'll be an expert in a very short time! :)

Max, I was just mentioning the "send link" vs. "send page" because they're both menu choices people will see.

You are absolutely right, GW. My son's AOL only works with links. May be his settings, though.

AOL's picky about HTML - I know many of the mailing lists I subscribe to include specially-formatted links for AOL users who can't view the content as included.
