Dave,
I can't access the chatroom. When I click on the "Chatroom Is Open", I get a blank box with a very small box in the upper left corner with a square, a circle and a triangle in it.
Is this problem on your end or mine?
Thanks.
Chatroom
Big Red, I can't get in either but its firefox, It keeps telling me I have to download the jave stuff well I have , rebooted etc and it still tells me that. Help Dave.
The problem is on both of your ends. Red: Has this worked for you in the past? Did you change anything recently? First thing to do is reboot and then try again and see if it works.
mystic: Hmmm, I'm at a big loss here because I have no idea how to install Java on Firefox for Windows. Where's Gardenwife?
dave
It worked for me -- and I saw Mystic in there, but I don't know if she'd just switched to IE for chat (didn't think to ask, Peggy!). I already had Sun Java installed on my PC, and I think Firefox just picked it up that way.
Try going to http://java.com and clicking the "Get it Now" button on the right.
Hope that helps!

Kim I had to go back to ie to get in. I dl the one that popped up when I went to chat. But it didn't work.
Hmmmm...(clearing throat and doing my best Elvis)...
C'mon and be our little guinea pig, uhhhhhh
Peggy dear delight
Using Firefox, read the following Mozillazine.com post and try out what they say: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=26507
Then go to one of these pages and see if these Java games work for you in Firefox: http://www.java.com/en/explore/desktop/games.jsp
Dogs!
I went to both the links you gave, GW. Downloaded (again) the java stuff, restarted, and still couldn't play any of the games. Kept getting the "click here to get plug in" message.
In my advanced stuff I have Use Java checked and also checked Java logging enabled and JIT compiler (Just cus they were under the same category!)
Oh well...no worries. I have IE to fall back on.
Pthbt. Wish I knew what to tell you guys. Dave said he was going to get his Windows notebook out -- *gasp*. This is serious! :D
Look at the Windows part of this link. http://java.mozdev.org/java_xpis/index.html Is it the same thing you did, Peggy and Shoe? I don't know if it's the same version as what they linked to in that Mozillazine.com link above.
Another thought...That link at Mozillazine.com said to try JRE 1.4.1_07 if JRE 1.4.2_03 doesn't work. I'm not sure if you have to first uninstall the previous one (proabably, knowing Windows).

Kim I did all that. I have even unistalled and reinstalled still won't work. I think it has something to do with the profiles. I will continue this on your thread in computer forum. Thanks for trying.
