For those happy users that have Mozilla Firefox installed, you can add the Plants Database search engine to your Searching deal on the top-right corner of your browser.
To add it, go to: http://plantsdatabase.com/search.php and click on "Add the PDB Search to your Firefox browser!"
It's pretty handy to have quick access to the plant search from your browser. Fun fun! :-)

Firefox users - cool PDB search tool
Eggggshellent! Any way to tweak the Google toolbar emulator so it will work there, too?
Man! (How'd he do dat?)
So cool!
I don't know how he did it but I sure like it. After I figured out where it put it. lol
Are the rest of the animal lovers as confused as I am?
I know this works for "Firebird", but are we talking a whole 'nother creature as in the fox got into the Firebird house and changed the name of the browser? :-)
Yep, they changed the name with the latest release. Confusing!
Thanks Dave. Nice new tool to have at the fingertips!!
The same thing exists for the Garden Bookworm, too. Just perform a search and scroll to the bottom of that page.

(Hehehe...love the eyeball icon for Garden Bookworm search engine! I now have it all set up!)
dave, I don't see where to click to add it?
tiG: Are you using Firefox? Scroll to the bottom of the search page (after all the results) and it should appear there.
Hey Dave, I'm so hooked on the PDB firefox search tool and even the Garden Bookworm. Is it possible that the Garden Watchdog can be a search on the Firefox search engine tool?
Okay, I noticed this at home because my husband had installed firefox, so I went ahead and changed from Mozilla to Firefox, but I could not get it to work. I clicked the link and tried to add it, but could it did not add it. Even after restarting. Could not locate it anywhere either.
Since I was unsuccessful, I went ahead and set up quick search so that I can just put PDB in the location bar and it works real well. I think I like it better than having another large chunk of my toolbar taken up like the google search bar does.
Hello!
I have new version of firefox, and the link referenced here ("Add the PDB Search to your Firefox browser!") isn't on the search page anymore.
Can someone resurrect this? It was really super-cool, and easy for using.
I can't find it either?
Is there a new link for it, Dave?
I just gave this a try...it works...and it rock! This will be a very useful feature.

Wait, Brent! How did you find it to install it?
Please please- do tell!
Darn, doesn't work for SeaMonkey. :-(
It was easy for me...I am running Firefox 2.0.0.3:
1) Went to the PlantFiles search link above: http://davesgarden.com/pf/search.php
2) Clicked the "Add the PF Search to your Firefox browser!" link (just below the
Search button)
After doing that (and I think I had to click an OK button on a dialog) I see PlantFiles in the list of search engines in the Firefox toolbar. If I select PlantFiles from the drop down, enter a phrase, and click the search button I am taken right to the PlantFiles search results.
- Brent
I figured it out. You have to go to the PF generalized search area, then the link is under the search button there.
Thanks!
DoofyAvenue found it with your help! Thanks! :D Love it!
ok, I'm crying "UNCLE" here. Either the link has disappeared, again, or i'm not finding it...I got absorbed in work stuff and spring and summer, and on following up here, it's not found by me.
Can someone please put a link in this mail thread of the "Add the PF Search to your browser" link, referenced above but someone hidden from me? I go to the generic search, but no link under the search button...
I have been searching for it as well, still can't see it!!
never mind, i see that this is a thread from 2004

It was not that long ago that I installed the search plug-in, but I no longer see the link either. I use the search plug-in all the time but I have to admit that I liked the results betters before it was updated to use the Google search engine. I think it used to show the nicely formated pages with the thumbnail images. I am curious if the search was switched to Google for features, performance or revenue.
