As for the extra-credit, I picked two folks who posted and made me giggle, and will also send them a little something.

Baa...Thanks for your humor! When I grow up I wanna be just like you! A mind with wit and knowledge combined! It is a great addition!

tiG...great mind thinking there! (Folks, I said I'm thinking of two words...etc. What'd she guess? "Two words!") Very good!

Next post I write will be what I thought of earlier today. "What would be the reason for choosing those words?"

How sweet Shoe. Sweet dreams everyone.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

And on this note...I go up to the house to relax. What a wonderful day ya'll gave me! Thanks!

Family. Love.

Hmmm…two wonderful words, eh? Was wondering why those two words popped to the front of my brain, then I got to thinkin'...

They can be used separately. And used together. Can be used in varied context. They both exude passion. Each word alone can relate to Togetherness. Both words together speak volumes! They both seem to talk of Growth. And, as we know, Growth happens in Gardens!

We were all born into a Family. After we each “germinated” we were then coddled in the great heatmat of our Mother. We had the proper warmth, the nourishment, the care and concern that would protect us and contribute to our growth! When we outgrew our “cell pack”, we were then transplanted to a nursery bed, and folks called it Birth!

The Nursery Bed gave us room to wiggle our toes, grow longer roots, reach out with our top growth, seek the Light, accept or refuse what was offered us, and see the new world around us! We were babied, nurtured, taught, played with, admired. Pretty cool, eh?

And here we are now. A continual form of Fruition. We now get to give back and offer or pass on to others our warmth, nourishment, care and concern, and encourage growth in many areas. Like I said, Pretty cool, eh?

Now, that other word, Love. That’s a mighty powerful word. Certainly as powerful as Family, perhaps more so! That’s the “secret” recipe that helps us grow. It’s the foliar feed or, rather, the Familial feed that showers us all and helps to keep us healthy and retain or gain integrity. It helps us fight off the molds and mildews that might appear in our Garden. That’s what encourages us to grow again, and again, year after year. That’s what is a perpetual given. All we have to do is accept it, and pass it along.

Like I said before, pretty cool, eh?

Thanks for participating folks.
Ya’ll ain’t nuthin’ but the Best!

Nighty Nite!

What a lot of fun this thread has been. Thank you, Shoe, for giving it to us and for your seemingly endless wisdom. Once again, you have delighted us all. What would we ever do without you? I hope we never have to. You're the BEST, my man!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Shoe you are magnificent! Thank you for your wisdom and sense of fun. May you never grow up!

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Does anyone ever think of Shoe as the never grow up Peter Pan of Dave's Garden or am I the only one?

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Maybe more perhaps like Willy Wonka without the chocolate. :)

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

HAH!....ya'll are nuts! Thank goodness, too!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Yes, but don't you love nuts?

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

That saying that Shoe just submitted, "Ya'll are nuts!" sparks off this reply in my mind. I just love nuts of all kinds and that includes Shoe!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Welp, reckon I'm ya'lls "nutty-buddy" then! τΏτ

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Our "Nutty buddy" sounds good to me, Shoe. So be it then...."Chuckle, chuckle.."

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Yup my Peter Pan Nutty Buddy, Willy Wonka and Awesome friend all rolled up in one man. But don't get a big head about it or I will pop your bubble. *snicker*

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

My haid gets any bigger I'm gonna hafta get a bigger hat!

Ya'll need to behave I tell ya! Behave!

YA'LL are the best...I just try to pull ya'll together so you know it! Ten four?

(Now as for poppin' that bubble, Pondy...when one of your pondfish comes to the surface to look around, I'm gonna zing a top water popper plug its way and encourage it to have a snack! By the time I get ready to leave your place you'll be begging to buy some of MY fish back to restock your pond with!) ;>)

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Shoe, you better bring plenty of coolers if you think you are going to try to fish most of MY fish out of the big pond. Why there are so many fish out there that DS hooked a full five gallon bucket of them in less than a half hour last fall.

Would ya quit threatening your coming out and get yourself out here?

Where in the world have I been....Just found this and your story just made me bawl like a baby Shoe...Wow....!
