All these search engines are coming up when you do a google search. It's really annoying. If I wanted to use one of those searches... I wouldn't be using Google!
What's with Google?
I don't think it is Google. My kids played on the computer one day and somewhere picked up some program. Every time we would go to Google or try to, it kept going to other search engines. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was but I think all my hubby had to do was find it and delete the cookies. He ran an errand but when he comes home I will ask him. It sure is a pain, isn't it!?!?
This has search engines come up with in the search... Looky here http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=daylily+AZURE+VIOLETS&btnG=Google+Search at the bottom there are three more search egines to search for "daylily Azure Violets". It just makes it so you have to wade through a lot more junk to find what you're looking for.
I get that also.
I don't get that. hmmm....
I don't get them either. Before I shut down my computer I go to 'Tools' and go to 'cookie manager' and clear out all the new cookies I don't want. I leave in the ones for DG and BGI and a few other sites but the rest I remove. Some of the cookies planted are 'spyware' which track all my surfing and transactions. Amazon sent me a notice once that some company was asking for a copy of my purchase memo, should they send it? Of course I said 'NO' and searched for the spyware cookie. Bill Gates is making millions selling other people the technology to tap my phoneline. It's all built into 'Windows' and by accepting the software you accept the right of other people to sneak into your computer and spy on you while Bill Gates is unsueable because you agree to this when you install his %$@!! software. GRRRRRRRRRR
tiG - Do you have these for the last three hits?...
Find DAYLILY AZURE VIOLETS Using the Free 2020 Search Toolbar
Find DAYLILY AZURE VIOLETS On WebSearch.com
Search For DAYLILY AZURE VIOLETS On Crawler.com
It's the same if you got to the nest page too.
I don't get that either, but I have the Google toolbar with pop-up blocker, the free version of Zone Alarm firewall, and in Internet Explorer, I have my privacy set on high. It blocks all cookies that don't have a compact privacy policy.
Since most shopping carts won't work without cookies, I can use edit to allow cookies for specific sites, or block others (like AOL). This cookie setting seems to keep most of the problems at bay.
With Zone Alarm, nothing can access the net without my permission. So Dell's Message Apps, and Real Networks can't "phone home", because I blocked their access. Even my Microsoft IntelliMouse tries to phone in , but so far, I haven't let it do so. Maybe that's some form of spyware too.
I never knew these programs were doing this until got the firewall.
I have a spybot to check for spyware and it's coming up clean.
I don't get anything except Google results. Can you do a print screen of the part of the page showing the other search engines, please?
It sounds like a browser hijacker. If you go to http://forums.spywareinfo.com and search for 2020, websearch.com or crawler.com, you'll see others have had the same issue. This is good to read first: http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=5187
poppy, I don't get them, sorry.
No probelm here either.
I had one pop-in some time ago, don't remember what I did, but it came in when I clicked on something dumb.
Bernie
I finally went and purchased Pest Patrol to make sure I don't get any of that stuff on the computer anymore.
I have google in the tool bar at the top of the browser, and it also has a built in pop up blocker you can use. I can't remember how I got it on there, but I saw it somewhere on a google site.
Google now has a function where you can type in something you are interested in that is news and it will send you a link when it comes up. Right now I am keeping track of puppymills and that Janet Jackson fiasco. Saves having to watch the news on tv to get things I am interested in.
Poppysue, try this link.

I downloaded BHO Demon last year and used it because something was hijacking my browser. I tested this link in the test forum and it did pull up the site, but if you have a hijacker on your computer, it might not allow you to pull up any site that could help you get rid of the beastie.
Sue, I am going to send you an email, or if you see this right away, email me. :)
I think I got it with Zone3_newbie's link. There was 4 files that it disabled and now the google page looks normal. Thanks everyone. I'm glad to get it taken care of. It was really bugging me!
