Finding a particular thread

Dave, you have done a mighty fine job of this website... but now it has grown so large that I seem to have no way of finding something I saw posted. For example, I saw a bit about iris borers, and even printed it for my housemate who is a BIG iris fan. Well, she lost the printout, and even after 30 minutes searching the forums, I couldn't find it.

Yes, I know I could have chosen to watch the thread, but thought I had all the information I needed....

Also, a friend who joined had a different question, and I wanted to go see her posts... No way to do that either, since I didn't know the thread... any comments or suggestions?

And for finding your friend's posts, try searching for his/her username. It may find their posts also.

It would be neat to have something on your member page, that says something like: "Here are the ten most recent postings by such-and-such" with a list (with links) of the ten most recent threads that that member has participated in.

I don't know how much that would be used, but it certainly would fix this particular question!
