Don't know if this is the right forum for it but tommorw will be a big day for the Panthers and North Carolina. From 1 win 15 losses two years ago to getting into the superbowl this year. Wow
Go PANTHERS
Yeah, I hafta root for them, just because I'm in NC if no other reason, LOL. (And I'm not even a football fan.)
im going to go with Brady and the patriots cuz hes use to play for michigan!
I really dont care either way! ;)
That makes all the more reason for me to root for the Panthers. Being an Ohio State fan.
New Orleans Saint's fan are in Jake's corner, for sure!
Panthers! Panthers! Panthers!
(Whew...I've been panting Panthers all day!)
Sparks, (and others), in another thread we were talking about starting a special thread tomorrow so we can chit chat, add comments and such, off and on during the game. This will be history in the making!
Go Panthers! Go Panthers! *pant pant pant...well, you know the rest...!
For the 1st half of my life, the only team near the south was the Washington Redskins and we had a quarterback from Wilmington that played with them (I think) Sonny Jergensen. Then after the Dolphins started up in Miami, the southern teams proliferated. I rooted for Atlanta for awhile and Atlanta is nearly as close to my house as Charlotte. In fact, I lived in Atlanta for awhile. But now this is so exciting, considering their record 2 years ago, that I am going to a Superbowl party at my son's house. My silly husband made a big rubber hand waving the finrer ("We're Number One!") but accidently had the middle finger sticking up instead of the index finger. I thought my daugher and granddaughter were fall down from laughing. He turned red.
Hey Horseshoe, sounds like a good idea to me, how do you want to set it up.
Shoe, I hope you're not too disappointed after tomorrows game, Big Buddy, but as a transplanted New Englander, I just have to root for my favorite team, the one with the best defense in football, the one with the longest winning streak, the one with the BEST quarterback (even though he was not voted co-mvp, of course he beat them both in the play-offs). GO PATS!!!
Want a bet? I'll bet the slurpiest 'mato out of my garden this summer!
Course I spose I'll have to give you odds, two of my 'matos to your one!
HAH!...
Grinnin' bigtime here, Red! Luv it!
I'll raise you two slurpy maters plus a pound of pole beans!
So much thanks for your post! Great! :>)
You're on Shoe!
Most fun bet I ever made on a football game!
Sorry guys, gotta root for the Patriots. I've lived in both states, MA and NC, but my whole family is kicking up the snow in New England and I'll be disowned if I go for the Panthers. I wish the Panthers luck and hope they aren't too upset when the Patriots win :) LOL
May the best team win! Happy Day, Kathy (somewhere not in MA or NC) :)
HeHaw,Go Panthers,Hubby is packin right now to go to SuperBowl. Gotta love it!!
Normally I would be rooting for the Patriots but since a local boy is in the Panthers I will be rooting for both teams to do their best!!! How is that for diplomacy?
I think I could be a politician.
Lani, That's teetering on both sides of the fence. Yep, great politician. LOL...(It's also called being safe.) Have a great day. Kathy
Started the new Super Bowl thread for today.

Sorry folks, gotta chime in for the Patriots! My DH's family is all from New England and they would be VERY upset with us if we didn't!
Shirley, Where in New England is your DH's family?
Yankee Doodle went to town riding on a football, scored a field goal in the end and called it Super Bowl.
Yankee Doodle play the game,Yankee Doodle dandy.
Yankee Doodle won the game, now to the fans be handy!
Yankee Doodle did win LOL...:) It was a good game though, played great by both sides. Panthers are doing well. :)
Hey red let me know how them there Pole beans taste! :)
Mais....dat cajun boy he played good yes!!!!
notmartha, will do!
Sure was a great game, had my shotgun off the wall a couple of times to go crow hunting, thought I was going to have to eat some for a while there! :o)
Baaaston, better known as "Beantown" :~)
HAH! Red, you're off the hook, no crow eating for you! (Gota good recipe tho, if you ever need one.)
Okay okay...when do I send the slurpy maters and the pole beans? That game was worth the bet! Excellent game. I think we all got to watch a history-making game!
Been putting off coming in here but the Panther's have nothing to be ashamed of. Next year both teams will be back and we will get another chance.
Ginger, your song did make me smile, I know there are no hard feelings anywhere. Even the players conducted themselves well on both sides of the ball.
Pats might be there for the AFC but Redskins have it for the NFC.
Shoe,
Already got my maters & beans, you sent seeds a couple of weeks ago! Course you might know I gotta do all the work! :o)
HAH!... I guess I paid in advance, eh!? (Hmmm...you know sumpin the rest of us didn't know!?)
Yep, you gotta do the work, but it's pleasurable work! But next time I'm cruising thru the great state of KY I'll swing by and do some weeding for ya to make things even more right!)
(Hmmm...Kentucky. You know there's a big DG Roundup your way this coming Sept, don't cha!)
Shoe,
Yup, hope to see you there!
Easy on that weedin shoe there are good weeds that should not be pulled. Ernie
Shoe, I have plenty of weeds here too. Are you coming to pull some of mine for all the fish you will be catchin' here?
Fish did you say fish.
Wait a minute what kind of fish live inland you pond are trying to trick shoe with a sublimanal suggestion that he may be treated to a monster type fish catching tradeoff for weed slaying.
Ernie, I have lots of bluegill sunfish and catfish plus some unknowns in my big pond here. Our son was fishing last fall and his hook didn't hardly hit the water before another was online. He caught a 5 gallon bucket full of fillet size in less than half an hour. Wanna come and try your hand at it? I have plenty of parking here.
Pond it has to be at least 30 years since I targeted those little guys I prowl the saltwater in search of salmon and sometimes halibut.
Years of summer fishing in Alaska has spoiled me so bad I lost all enthusiasim for anything but salmon there is nothing like an ocean fresh king salmon 30 or so pounds that you have to chase with the boat.
Besides I don't trust you, me feels you may be harboring Bitty on the shore of your pond with her trusty trunion and I don't want to take a chance on being giged.
LOL I would be more likely to loan you one of the six canoes we have here and then swim under it and dump you out. LOL
Ohhh I wish I lived closer so I could beg some salmon and halibut from you. YUMMMMMM
