Help With Journal

I hope this is the right place to post this. I was playing around and trying to get my journal started and really botched it. Now I just want to delete everything and start from scratch. However, now when I click on "journal" under the "your tools" menu I get taken to "Page 3". Can someone - (Dave? anyone?) - reset my journal so that I can start over again?

Click on journal in the menu above this page. It will sort of talk you through how to delete a journal.
I have never tried to make one, but looking at the menu it looks like fun so I made one. Who knows, I mmay be back here trying to delete mine late. LOL

Windy, I have tried that and when I hit journal, it goes to manage your journal than I hit that and it goes to Set 3 which has nothing on it to choose from I am at a dead end. I have tried everything. I contacted Dave to see what I should do. Thanks anyway Cindy

From 'Click here to completely remove one of your journals.'

"Deleting a journal

You can only delete an empty journal. There must be no items in a journal before you may delete it.

Click on the journal you want to delete. Notice that I won't let you delete any journal that still has any items within.

You only have one journal, the default one, and that one cannot be deleted."

Maybe I am not explaining myself clear, I tend to do this from time to time, will try again, here goes.

When I first started I hit the journal tab, It automatically went to a page that said you first need to set up status, I put in three things
1. Hosta transplant bed
2. Daylilie transplant bed
3. Planted in trough

When I did this, I hit the submit tab it automatically went to

Step 3 (which said)

You need to start your journal off by adding first item. You do this by going to the category in which you want this item to be created, when you have selected your category, then click on "Add a new item"

Select the category from list below

Here is where my problem startes, there is no list below that I can select from. I have not gotten that far yet. When I close out the whole thing and start over again, I get the same response.

I don't understand why when I first started why it automatically went to status, I think it should have went to setting up categories first then status, I am at a dead end.

I contacted Dave and hopefully he can help me with this problem.
I tell you when I mess up I do it in a big way....LOL
I hope this explains better what the problem is.

The FAQ button in the colored toolbar menu when you're IN your Journal answers a lot of the questions on how to start a journal and how to change things.

I just peeked at your Journal and it looks like you've got a few Categories set up so all you need to do now is add the items under them. Here's a link on how to add an item:

Looks like you need to set up your 'Status' list.

On the main page for your journal, about a third of the way down, there is a heading 'Main Menu:', click on 'Statuses' (Add/Edit statuses).

From there add the categories you want available as designations for your entries. (I have 'Cutting, Divided, Drought Tolerant, Fertilized, Growing, Growing Well, Heat & Drought Tolerant, Heat Tolerant, Just Dug, Layering, New Plant, Plantings, Prolific Bloomer, Seeds, Snail Candy, Snail Resistant, Static Growth, Struggling, Thriving, Transplanted')

Some of those, I believe, were already on the list, the rest I added myself. Matter of fact, I just added 'Just dug' the other day because I had just found some seedlings sprouting around a tree and availed myself of some.

Keep trying. You'll get there!

Actually Statuses aren't required to add an item, only Category. The Status can be left an "unknown" until you set up some.

Now do some of you understand why I "haven't" started a journal or trade list??? If you don't understand some of the lingo or get confused about what item to click, you can't do a journal.

I've been trying for over 3 yrs. and my journal is empty!!! lol

The new FAQs are pretty good (not perfect!) course I'm kinda partial since I wrote them and Terry edited them. LOL!

I truly understand what you are saying but the only thing that I get is words on the pages but have no way of setting up anything. There is no way for me to click onto anything when I open up my journal I only am able to see what I said up top. All the words are black. There is no blue links to click onto.
