Us! well, okay, not really us as in us...but us!
The story:
About a two months ago our wee landscaping company landed a nice contract. Jim Walter Homes http://www.jimwalterhomes.com/ out of Tampa Fla. is building a subdivision in the next town and DH landed the contract to landscape all 300 houses. They never told us that a commercail was going to be shot at one of the houses until last week. Everything had to be perfect. The newly laid sod was dormant and they wanted it green. DH sprayed the grass green with a specail turf paint. All the dormant trees we planted had to be taken up for the shoot and in went evergreen trees. Thirteen flats of color went in the flower bed in the front. We had a limited buget from them to work with and an instant established landscape was achieved. After the shooting today, everything was pulled up and the dormant stuff was put back in. The commercial is going to be aired nation wide. Our landscape work will be in it. Neat huh! It was a very interesting day.
Coming soon to a commercial near you!
How Exciting!!!
Congrats!
Looks great. I'd sure be excited!! Congratulations to you both.
Real neat Lisa.
Congratulations!
I guess your DH isn't going to have much time to pull weeds in YOUR garden this summer! :o)
thank you all so much for the congrats. I am so proud of my DH. He is such a hard worker and it has finally served him well. Just four years we had this dream of having our own company. We stepped out on a limb and never looked back. Jesse works very hard and I believe in him. When we first started, he didn't know the difference between a watermelon plant or a rose bush..lol! I helped him at first but now he doesn't need my help anymore, he has it all down. I truly believe that if you work hard enough and believe in yourself, you can accomplish your goals. We are proof!
Congratulations to you both!! The pictures look wonderful.
Ain't God good. Jesse also.
yes Jim, He is very good.
Congratulations to you both. We'll be looking for that commercial.
I think this is super fantastic! A success story in the true sense. Yay, go go go!!!
It's true folks...Jesse is a hard worker and, just as importantly, an honest down-home kinda guy. (He has a perpetual smile on his face that is so warm it would melt an iceburg!)
Congrats to the Family! I know it takes all of you to make this a happening!
Wonderful! Simply Wonderful!
Congrats when are you coming to washington?
Use to be I had the yard and a so so garden now I have a so so yard and a beautiful garden sigh maybe this year I will have to slip in more yard time again nice job.Ernie
It looks fantastic! Who would have believed the change that took place in such a short time? (Hey GW, wouldn't Emma have looked nice lounging in the middle of the lawn?)
congratulations! This was quite an undertaking to get it prepped for the ad shoot and back again to the original landscaping. I sure wish I could have been a mouse in the corner when people drove by while they were spray painting the lawn! I can only imagine the comments made. LOL
How exciting for you and Jesse! Congratulations, the two of you are living proof 'hard work' does get rewarded.
I, like Lani would have loved to see people's faces when Jesse was spraying the lawn green! How was the weather during this whole escapade? Hopefully you weren't freezing your buns while you did the work. Wonderful, wonderful news, hope we will be able to get to see your work when the commercials are aired. What exactly is the commercial for? D
Oh, Lisa, I am thrilled for you guys! Folks, I know first-hand the long hours Jesse puts in, not to mention Lisa. These folks work their rears off, and are really good at what they do.
I am so, so, soooo happy for you guys!
Be nice if the company airing the commercial would put a little blurb about ya. It'd be kinda neat if they'd list you guys under "vendors of interest": http://www.jimwalterhomes.com/links.php?aid=00&lg=en
Send me pictures and some more info - I'd love to do a story about your experience in my weblog. :)

sue
Setting those goals, believing in those dreams - What a great role model for your daughter too!
This is just super - so happy for you !!
Oh Lisa! That is so wonderful!!! Congrats!
(((((Lisa & Jesse)))))
**standing and applauding** Congrats!! You guys deserve it.
Lisa this is wonderful. You and Jesse work so hard.Congrats to you both.
Just tremendous Lisa!!! You and Jesse did good!! :-)
Congrats Lisa and Jessie! That had to be fun, neat and sort of annoying! LOL But hey, if they pay ya. :) My neighbor gets many plants that way. He is a contractor and often they have to set up a landscape for pics or tours, then rip it out and put in the proper plants. Amazing to me, some of those big landscape companies just walk off and leave the plants!
Congrats again!
What a wonderful opportunity, Lisa. I am so proud of you and it couldn't have happened to nicer folks than you two. You guys are truly THE GREATEST!
BRILL!!!!
Congrats from here too to Lisa and Jesse, looks like DG'ers are slowly but surely moving up in the world.
I thought it would have looked pretty nice if a couple of your wee goats were on the grass, but the paint would have probably caused them to give you a coupla pints of greenish milk ;-)
All the best again

If the Actors did not have hats and coats on,you would think it was July!!!!!
Big Standing O coming from KC.it looks great!!!
Lisa, I was up at 4 a.m. this morning, a little under the weather. A commercial came on for tkbuildings or something like that and it reminded me of your post. I looked closely at the landscaping....nothing like Jesse's. :) I'm awaiting that commercial.....Happy Day, Kathy
Lisa,
This is great news. I hope we get to see the commercial here.
Congratulations Lisa and Jesse. It is amazing what had to be done to take out the plantings and replace them and then undo all. Looked great. Donna
Oh WoW! What wonderful news! Congratulations to both of you and how exciting. We share your joy and happiness!
That is way too cool Lisa!! Congratulations to both of you and all the hard work. Ill be looking for that commercial. Then I can tell eveyone Hey I know who did the landscaping!! So cool.
Thank you all so much for sharing in our excitement. This means so much to me. Yesterday was truly amazing to see first hand what goes into a 30 sec. commercial.
Lunch was served to everyone on the set and they invited us to eat along with them. It was a full meal, along with every kind of snack you could want. Being a mom that homeschools, I took Sally along and she really worked hard right along me. She was also amazed at the whole production and will be talking about it for a long time.
Thank you all once again for sharing in our excitement! I actually couldn't wait to come home and tell my ciber family about it all!
Wow, exciting stuff!
This is the best place to share our lives :)
When people that we love have great thing happen to them, it is so wonderful being able to share in their joy.
Woohoo!!! This is soooo great! :)
(((((((((((((())))))))))))))
Great job! Congrats to all! I will be watching for the ad>. Lou
