About an hour ago, Gloria died at her home. As I am sure all of you who have been on Dave's for awhile knows that she was a very good friend to Dave's Garden people, generous to everybody, kind always, willing to help anybody get started with brugs and anything else she had that she thought somebody would want. She will be missed very very much.

This is such a sad day. I was lucky enough to get to meet Gloria in June. What a wonderful lady with a great sense of humor. I will always remember that about her. She is going to missed by everybody. Roz let Ron know we are thinking about him and the family.
Oh my gosh Roz. I'm so sorry to hear this. Gloria was such a sweet lady. I will sure miss her. I know she was in a lot of pain, but now she is in God's hands and pain free. I will be praying that her family will get through this okay. I will be praying also for Gloria's close friends. I know this will be hard for a lot of us here at Daves and BGI. Thank you for being there for her.

I never met Gloria but she was a wonderfully sweet lady who was generous with her time, plants, and advice. She will be sorely missed.
How sad to hear this. I didn't realize she was that close to passing. She was such a sweet generous lady. Just about 3 months ago I had posted on Dave's asking if anyone knew where I could purchase Audrey O. She emailed me that she was sending me a cutting. When I heard that she was so ill, I emailed her thanking her and telling her not to worry about sending me a cutting until she was feeling better. Shortly thereafter her husband emailed me saying that she wanted him to mail it to me. She didn't just send me a cutting, she sent a rooted plant. Can you imagine being that ill and still thinking of others in that way?
God bless you Gloria in your journey to where there is no more pain and sorrow, only glory forever.
I am very sorry to hear this! Glory was already here, when I joined davesgarden and I learned her to know as being a nice and helpful lady! I am very sad about this.

Oh NO! My deepest sympathies to her family and you too Roz, I know you were very close. Gloria was one of the most gentle, kindly, generous ladies who ever graced Daves. She was also one of Daves best strengths with her knowledge and commonsense.

I'm very sad,we have lost a cherished member of our family here.
I too am shocked. I spoke with Ron on Monday night and he said she was not feeling well. I'm very sad I didn't get to visit with her during the holidays not wanting to expose her to my cold. She was a very wonderful and generous person. My thoughts are with you Ron and family.

she was one of the first ppl to ever send me a cutting-----she didnt know me from adam, she trusted that I would send the postage, what got me hooked here was not the brugs, but the people, the warm welcome,-----she will be missed.... perhaps tonight some of yall might surf up some of her pics n we can celebrate some of the sunshine she shed here. cheryl

It is done Cheryl. Glory hybridized some very nice brugs and this is a good time for us all to remember her through the pictures she posted of them.
I am so sorry to hear this. She was the first one to share her brugs with me, didnt matter to her that I was a stranger here. She had kind words for me, was helpful and encouraging. Hard to find that these days..She will be missed by me, too.
I never had the chance to meet Gloria in person but was fortunate enough to talk with her on the phone more than once. Those few conversations went on for several hours.
She was a very kind and generous person and will be greatly missed by all of her brug friends.

Words cannot explain the loss that we have experienced here in the community. Gloria was known by many. I was introduced to her by my DM "Brugnanny" in October of 2002 when we went on a roadtrip. She was the first one on our many stops. We were welcomed warmly into her home. She was a wonderful person, friend, and gardener. She was never one to unkindly speak bad things about anything or anyone. She was a beautiful person, and she will be deeply missed!

I am so sorry to hear of Glory's passing. I didn't personal ever have the chance to meet her, but I send my condolences and will be praying for her family and those that loved her.

I am still at a loss for words and that is why I have not posted. Lisa the poem that you wrote about Gloria is beautiful. I wish I could express things in words like you do.
It has been a very sad day for me and I will miss my weekly phone calls with Gloria. It is sort of difficult to get out of a habit. I will miss not seeing her in March like we talked about last Sunday. She was such a special lady and I am so thankful that we had the relationship that we did. Gloria is at peace now and suffering no more constant severe pain.
