Some of you have heard stories of my lil DAYMEIN-hes now 7-well he will be on the 24th of this month!!! You remember the OMEN was on the Nite he was born!
I had to take Dayme to ER yesterday to get stitches I was so darn scared. He was upstairs with kegan and I was in the basement doing DAYlily seeds-arms were loaded with glass jars full of water n seeds when I heard them both running down the stairs and some yelling-at first I thought it was the regular your going to die now stuff they do all day long. But this time it seemed very URGENT(gut feeling)I tossed the jars on the freezer top and ran upstairs. OMG his hand was gushing blood and he was yelling. Kegan looked scared to death. I grabbed a dishcloth and applied pressure then removed to find a gash in the palm of his hand and across his wrist. He was crying im going to die call the police-911> Kegan and i applied pressure and off we went flying to the hospital,6 stitches in his hand and 7 in his wrist. IM getting to old for this stuff-i was so scared i couldnt even think at first.
We now have a window made out of cardboard! He was bouncing on rorys bed(on floor)and tripped on Kegans foot and smack right through the window went his arm!!
If you could remember him in your prayers I would appreciate it-maybe ask God to give me a break with these last 2 boyz! ;)
Stitches yesterday!
Dori I know that had to scare you and them to death. I am so glad he is ok. I will keep him in my prayers.
I'm praying for his hand/wrist and your frazled nerves to heal quickly.
Oh yes! my prayers and concern added for quick healing. This brings back memories of raising my 5 kids! Good luck, from another Michigander.
I'm praying for all his cuts to heal quickly.
Good grief Dori! What was it, two days ago we were talking about this? I am glad he is not worse off than he is. Maybe you will get lucky and it will calm him down a bit. I'm so sorry you had the scare of your life. When Carly split her head open, it sure scared me, and it slowed her down for a little bit, too short of a bit though. ;) Thinking of all of you.
It is my fear everyday. My grandchildren love to jump on the beds and the couch and while I live in a Berm home and windows are few and far between, we are tile on concrete and I don't have carpeting (tough to have on a farm!). I watched the show the other night where the boy was walking with the 7 mth old baby in his arms and tripped on his own shoelace and the baby hit his head on the tiled/concrete floor. Scared the fire out of me and I am definitely considering carpeting....I'll just throw the husband out. :) In any event, Dori, it could have been so much worse and I am grateful he only had to have stitches. Hugs and prayers are with you, as I know you are most upset about this, as I would be. God Bless, Kathy
I'm thinking of ya, and praying for you gal. I remember when my oldest son, then 8 fell off his bike in a ravine and split his knee open from corner to corner.....but ya know what, he's gonna be 30 this year.
"eyes"
Dori,
Should I be praying for you or for the poor boy? :)
boys cause gray hairs to sprout - I know!!! Had two of them, adults now, but I still worry bunches over them.
Praying for wounds and nerves to heal quickly.
thanks everyone-it sure was a day i dont want to do again!
He is the baby of 5 boyz!! they are now 24,20,18,10 and dayme 7.
ive seen alot of stuff inmy time-this one rankes up there with Teigs eye lid stitches-rory went to hit the orange with the golf club-teig was just stepping back from dropping the orange-that was GROSS!!!
gray hair only---miss clariol know for sure ;)
Thanks everyone he seems to be ok-can even play video games again!!!
but boy when he bump it-OOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUCCHHHHHHHHYYYY!
Dori, glad he is healing, I do not know how you all do it; I am only a aunt (many times over) and watching the various little ones started me meeting Miss Clariol early in life!!
Wow, aren't kids fun?! Don't worry about those gray hairs, wear them with pride, you've earned them.
So glad he is doing ok. I hope you will soon be able to look back at this and laugh. Well, maybe not laugh. lol
Gray hair is pretty, wear it with pizzaz.
Egads, Dori - glad Dayme's okay. Sounds like he's living up to his name? Or down to it? LOL!
I remember the feeling...my son always used to move too fast. Took more headers down the stairs then I care to remember and was always going to the hospital for stitches.
He finally did it one day though...I was working at the library and he took off and ran into the old wood card catalogue...knocked out a tooth and put a hole in his lip. We checked him out and DH put the tooth back in but when the lip swelled up it split (could see the fatty tissue at the bottom)...they do survive and you hope you will too ;~)
We used to joke with the Doctor that he should teach us how to put in stitches!
Good luck and yes we'll be praying for you.
WEW! relief to hear things are better.

Boy, he was sure blessed to not cut across his wrist artery - wow!
Dori, glad everything finally turned out pretty much okay. Looks like he will have a sore hand and wrist for awhile. Like someone else said don't worry about the grey hairs you have earned everyone. Donna
This reminds me of our boys. One in paritcular. Kyle was the accident prone one in our household. Still is to be honest. He has flung himself out of the hayloft playing Tarzan(never had a bruise, ache, etc.)was kicked by a horse which cost him his spleen, 3 ribs broken off his spine which still causes him pain, the front tire on his bike came off while he was riding full speed across a pipe stock gaurd leaving his mouth looking like hamburger filled with gravel and his nose pushed up into his head, hung himself on a hay rope in the hayloft and was nearly dead when the other kids found him-he had a rope burn to show for that one& we didn't learn for months what had really happened, and on and on thru the rest of his life. His wife recently told me about some I didn't know about. I figure if I could live thru that boy nothing will ever suprise me anymore. His wife prays Skyler won't be like him.
Bless his over exuberant little self he really did a job of it this time. Fortunately this too shall pass and will become another memory for which you will both have momentos. He will have his scar as a reminder and you will have more gay hair under the dye. Isn,t being a Mommy exciting!
dori and dayme, your sure do have adventures together. you are always in my prayers.
prayers and healing thoughts sent...
How's his hand healing up, Dori?
He got them out last night-4 of them were tough to get out.
The one pulled a littl hard and he said ok that it im going home now, lets go dad!
It looks like its healed good-will post a pic laterz.
thanks again everyone for all your prayers!!!
Ouch - sticky stitches do hurt when coming out. Glad it's healing well, Dayme!
