Hey, Dave-
I've been busy getting my '04 journal up and running, including my overly-ambitious list of "things to grow" :)
I've got to-do's set up for the dates I want to sow each type of seed, but I also use to-do's for other things (greenhouse tasks, fertiliizing schedules, etc.)
When I print my to-do's, I notice two things:
1) it defaults to the original order (by common name, maybe?) to print; and
2) the to-do text doesn't print. So I'm left to decipher and/or handwrite in what the to-do is for each item :(
Is there anyway you might be willing to:
a) allow us to select which to-do's we want to print (so we can print out just the to-do's for one day, for example); and
b) include the information in the textbox associated with the to-do when it prints off. (Sometimes I add specific germination requirements - stratification period, temperature, etc. It'd be great to have this info handy when I print out the list of seeds to start.
If there's another way to accomplish this, I'm all ears :o)
Thanks!
Terry
Printing options for the journals
Here here! I agree. I've been muddling through printouts of my journal in the evenings to work on new plant markers on these cold evenings. I've also tried using the printouts for my To Do's and haven't found it to be very useful. Brenda
Dave--been doing work again on my Journals tonight and I'd sure like to be able to change the "Default" journal name to something else. I looked to see if this has been asked before using the Search but didn't see it asked. Let me know if there's a way to do this. Thanks! Brenda
Brenda, I *think* the reason you can't change/remove the default journal is because that's simply the description given to whichever journal is the one you want to default to.
Otherwise Dave would have to find another way to indicate which journal is your default journal, and the indication would have to be able to change with your changes - for example, my '04 journal is my default for right now. But if I fast-forward to next January, I'll have an '05 journal, and I'll want it to be my default. This way, I can choose which journal to designate as my current "default".
Does that make any sense?
So....I shouldn't put anything in the "default" journal? I should create other journals and the system somehow knows which one is my "default" when I next access my Journal home page? I went ahead and created a new journal and moved the existing items in my "default" to it so the "default" is now empty. I guess the concept of an empty journal is odd to me. Thanks for the explanation.
What if our default journal is our only journal? Is there a way people could just be taken to the default journal rather than having to click a "default journal" link when it's the only choice, anyway?
Hello,
Found this post when I searched for printing options on Journal.
Is there a way choose content to print? I would like to print my comments on selected entries. If this is not an option, a csv file would do. Come to think of it, the ability to export to common format for download would be really handy.
Thanks.
