Lost in Rhodes

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

What a terrible feeling to be lost.....But I found an internet cafe and decided to just waste a couple of hours in here and then I'll find my way back one way or another.
Yesterday we spent most of the day going around in cirlces, so I dont have a very good point of reference.
I've been shopping all morning and am tired, my feet hurt and I think it's going to rain.
Worst comes to worst, I will just find a cab....
I hope the weather clears by Friday or else I will be stuck here till tuesday, the ferry only operates on Tuesday and friday during the winter. My husband left yesterday to go to Kos with the car. We are doing this trip to bring the car back in. We brought our Jeep from the US and we can only keep in the country for 6 months, so it came in with my passport for 6 months, and we are hoping that he can take it in with his passport for another 6 months. But we dont want to travel together cause the customs people might catch on to us.....
One funny thing about Rhodes, the whole island shuts down at 2:00 pm and re-opens at 6 pm, even the big department stores. We were trying to conduct some official business a couple of days ago and lo and behold we had to give it a rest at 2...
The island is lovely, although not one familiar thing from my past... you'd think I would recognize at least one thing. Not so.
You should see the lovely flora here, and the abundance of citrus fruits (although I can say the same for Bodrum)
I looked at a house in Yahsi beach about 15 minutes away from Bodrum, it was in a Tangerine orchard, and right outside the kitchen there was an orange tree with big fat juicy oranges on it, which we picked a cuple, and a lemon tree.....but the house was too small so we didnt take it.

I've been doing some shopping here, since Greece is in the EU, they have a lot of european brands, and surprisigly a lot of US brands, like Hellman's mayo and Uncle bens rice, but I didnt buy any of those items....

I miss DG so much, and I miss all my friends here.

Thanks Brenda, wish I could just hide out in this internet cafe till tomorrow afternoon.....
It's fun to be able to surf Dave's all afternoon though....
What a great feeling, I feel like I'm visiting home.
You know what would have made it perfect would have been a chat going on.....But I guess I cant time getting lost on Dave's chat time....

Pebble, the chat room opens this morning at 7:00. Just 15 minutes from now. Hope you are watching still.

Hi, Pebble! You've been in my thoughts and prayers, as well -- that first year of a move, especially to another country, can really be traumatic (even though you like your new place); so many things you have to do, so many friends missed. Thank heaven for the Internet!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Oh boy.... I found my hotel yesterday in 20 minutes....I'll tell you one thing, I am certainly getting my exercise in...
DH got the car into turkey with no problem, now I just have to get myself home. I called the ferry service and they told me to call back in an hour, they are to tell me if the ferries are running. I hope they are, cause I dont really want to stay here till next tuesday.
