Schools closing from cold!

Gosh... I don't think I've ever seen this happen and I've been in Maine all my life. Wind chills are -33F here right now and even colder inland.

EW EW EW. I cant believe its that cold up there. The only thing we've ever had school closings for was for heat in unairconditioned schools and if there is an electrical, water or heat problem.

well the arctic air is due here tomorrow right now we are geting hammered with snow!

-25 for a month and a half last winter withot any snow!!!

I thought about you last night while watching the weather channel. That is TOOOOOOOO cold for me. I hope you don't lose power during this cold spell. Stay warm - - roast marshmellows and drink hot chocolate!

When I was a kid in Pennsylvania in the '70s and '80s, they would close school when the wind chill got around -50F. We missed a lot of days in seventh grade because of the "energy crisis" or something, and that was fine with me, since I hated seventh grade.

WOW, it has been a long time since they have closed the schools here in NE OH because of weather, once in a blue moon they do for no power, but so far - not even a closing for bad weather, one day however they should have, after the busses left the school to take kidders home, one bus (my kids) slid off the road due to ice, they were well over an hour late getting home and we were so worried! I have vowed since that day if weather looks bad, I pick them up from school. lol

schools are closing right and left here now. The snow has been coming down since about 5am, I have to go to the dr. in a lil bit-man does this stink! :( I may bring the boyz home early too!
Im sure there will be no school tomorrow.

Wow! Minue 35*! Now I will stop complaining about 20* in Ohio. This must be a heatwave !

Its just nasty here, snow, single digits, 20 mph wind. Not too dramatic for us. Not too pleasant, either! I'm going to have to start wearing gloves up here.

almost 8inches of snow today-its very WHITE and cold temps down to 1 tonight!

Too cold for me.. we all wear short and t shirt even barefoot today! Too warm! It's gonna to be warm this week.. Send warm weather up there!
