She really is being nice you haven't seen the pictures of the inside of the house yet. Maybe we can get a group rate on plane tickets?
Welcome home Susie
Holy Cow!! I've never seen a scheffelera that big in my life. Beautiful. Man, I'm jealous and I don't mind saying so. Would give my eye teeth to live in your place or one like it. Not sure I'd want all the yard to mow, but since I'm used to mowing almost three acres, I guess it could be done without too much complaining. Beautiful place, and the sunset is great too. You must feel very fortunate to have all of that room to work with. Even your "hiding pots" look good to me. LOL!!
My best friend dates a pilot- maybe we can rent a plane?
I think you are living in Paradise Susie. The soil sounds wonderful. The sunset is beautiful. Donna
Lets Kristi!! I saw that on the Trump show. We can have happy hour across the skies as we pick everyone up to go see Susie! We will have to make a quick stop to pick up Monika and Frank and some double pinks. LOL
I see you have brugs already dug in. I couldn't see the EE's you planted around the pool but the palms are a great start on that tropical look. I can't wait to see it at the end of the summer.
Don't forget me! Beautiful sunset you have there! I can hardly wait to see more.
Susie, you have a beautiful paradise there. Like all the others "I'm so jealous". LOL Can't wait to see the yard when you get thru doing all your magic to it.
Gorgeous pictures to go with your gorgeous house!! DROOL!!!
"scheffeleras growing beside the house"....I thought they ONLY grew INSIDE one's house!!! LOL!!! Now you tell me!!! But I think it would fffreze here and get totally covered with sssnow...BBBRRRrr!
Love your pool too! Superfantastic spot for a R.U. Whatcha all think??? But NO gator-on-a-stick for appetizers though...that's where I draw the line! ;~)
Aaaaw Shirley, gator tastes just like chicken. Rattlesnake is good bbq'ed too! The driveway is big enough for an RV or two. Kristi and everyone-- I have three extra rooms plus lots of sleeping bags if there aren't enough beds, so everyone come on down!
Brugie, you think the scheffelera is big, you should see the neighbor's ficus benjamina! It's taller than his house!
PS, we went to the Island tonight, it's about 15 miles from here.
Well if you ever come up here again leave that crocagator at home.....my chicken's would take offence to him having the nerve to think he tastes like them....
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Now Cala has advanced her recipes to include BBqued rattlesnake and alligator McNuggets! I guess this is a step up from her grub stew!
Can you imagine, new brugs already planted in the ground ready to go. Please keep us posted on your yard's progression. I can just see it about May - gorgeous!
I wonder how many people move in and plant a semi full of plants? LOL Susie, you must be either the most strange or most envied neighbor!! Just wait til they see all your pretties bloom!
Welcome back Susie! DG was not the same without you.
Hi Delecie. I was just wondering how those seeds you got from Preissel did. Did they flower for you?
Hi Susie, I`m glad you are setteling in. That is a gorgeous place. Let me know if you moved Bill`s Sculpnon.
Oh Wow Susie...What a beautiul home, pool, yard, etc. Sure makes me want to come to Texas! Except I don't do snakes or gators.....
Busybee, we were afraid the scuppy thingie wouldn't grow here, so we left in the expert care of a good friend. Then when we started driving around down here, we saw two different vineyards! They do grow here! Waaah, I'm gonna have to drive back to TN to get Bill's grapevine.
Vic, I haven't seen the gator or a rattlesnake(little ground snakes don't count do they?)so you can come down anytime.
Badseed, the neighbors all came by to see what was in the horse trailer! Now they keep coming by to see how the "sticks" that I brought with me are doing. I went to a tropical nursery today, bought a big plumeria(they didn't have brugs, but I can work on that)
Susie, glad you are in your paradise. If you lost any brugs that I can replace, let me know. I mailed Lauren's late B'day gift yesterday. It should be there Thursday or Friday. Hope she liked the hooded thingy. I'll wait until next winter to come down for a visit when its cold here. Lows in the 50's sounds wonderful. It is supposed to be a high of 46 today and a low of 21 tonight here. I have EP, Butterfly, Maya & Sunset with buds. Could be others but have not looked in the gh much. My pods on HG are growing and doing great, will send you some seeds when they ripen.
LOL Susie! They will know all about Brugs before you finish with them. I can see you now trading Brugs for the Plumies and Palms and Ears and Nanas.............looks like a lasting relationship to me. Heck, maybe you can just grow them for them, nice little consignment thing until you get a nursery up and going. :)
Really, Susie. You could come to SA and sell them to the nurseries here in a heartbeat. There are a couple of nurseries here that sell them, but their pinks always turn out to be gold ones and their whites ones turn out to be yellow. Don't think their supplier has it down right yet. lol
Wow Susie. You said you were in the middle of a move, but I had no idea until now just how compleatly removed you were planning to be! Never again will you need to drag a brug inside, unless you just want to cool it off!
Lovely Lovely home you have there! Best of luck getting it all put together the way you want it.
Shucks Cala,
Won't you adopt me? PLEASE!!! :)
Hi Kell:
Fairchild Tropical Garden received and grew the seeds from Dr. Preissel. I bought two of the plants and one has flowered and the other has Y'ed. I have pictures and as soon as I get a break from school assignments I'll post them along with other brugs that have flowered. I'll try to post them this weekend or the beginning of next week. :-)
Welcome Neighbor! I just found out you have moved! I am all behind the news!
Is that a sang?
looks like a sang hybrid ??
Where can I order a dozen..LOL
I'd take one too if it would come full of buds. I sure can't get them to bud myself. Gorgeous!!
Gorgeous color. Somebody come help me off the floor. I'd take one in a hearbeat.
This is the page I stole it from! To beautiful!!

That's a beautiful flower Kell. Unfortunately the one that I have looks nothing like that. However, I like the flower and I plan to keep the plant.
The flower is large with a creamy white color. It smells nice and the first flowers have been replaced by more flowers that are opening now. I'll take additional pictures that I'll post next week.
great Delecie. Thanks!
