Enjoying a winter day

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Shoe, remember the slogan, "Go west, young man, go west!" Don't actually know if age has anything to do with it or not???????????????????????? Maybe not! Zany, surely the sad experiences of the Donner Party will be a hard lesson that will be learned for Shoe, especially since he doesn't wear SHOES! That would be pretty uncomfortable in them thar hills without any shoes on in the cold times. (There might not be any McDonalds out thar in them hill neither. LOL! (Bet there are though. And....also a Walmart or two or 10!) Maybe just this once, Shoe, you could make an exception. I have often wondered what you do about church attendance concerning the barefooted tendency that hangs over "yo po confused head" sometimes. Speaking of Donner Party, (not a social gathering for you historically uninformed folks) I saw a wonderful TV program the other night about the first successful wagon train party that made it to California from the east. It was wonderful. Did you see it by any chance? I think it was a repeated program.

A "commenting system"?...You mean so people can comment on what Zany says? Or to add to it? Maybe those new free forums that Dave set up would work for ya'll, eh? He said you could have as many forums as you want...I can just see it!

Now as for them shoes, Ellen, hehehe...history tells us I'm pretty inventive when I really NEED a pair!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Elana, you haven't read Horesehoes footwear saga? He really does get creative when he needs too!

The Forums Site Dave set up is really nice but this Blog layout is more like an individual diary that can be made public or private. They even have a section in their FAQ's that tells you how to be able to publish your journal (BLOG) without having your Mother stumble across it and discover the "Real You" And the comment section makes it feel like (and is like) someone else is reading your private diary and left a sticky note on your brain cells.

I thought that it feels like you are being a bit of an exhibitionist and the readers are voyeurs but since my mind is such a cluttered place not too many voyeurs would want to pop in and risk suffocating in the dust.

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Shoe, yes I do remember the inventive shoe saga to which you refer. How in the world could I forget that even if I tried????? (Which I didn't!) I am relieved to know that you won't have frozen footsies though, no matter what the circumstances. Ya never did tell us how you dress for church, or rather how you dress yo footsies for church.

Zany, I can imagine popping into your mind might be sorta like an episode of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" only much more exciting. Who knowsssss what mysteries dwell there?

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmmm...such an easy question Ellen, but one with a long descriptive answer. Guess I should save that for an email lest we get too off-track here!

There can't be dust in Zany's brain, unless it's the color of a rainbow. Arcing high, looking around and wondering where it will go. I s'pose it sometimes might begin to swirl, stirring up the space, but when it once again settles down the colors are still in their place!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

That rainbow of color sounds such a delight but at each end there can be things that fright. For no mind is free of it's cares or it's woes and sometimes fierce dragons such fiery breaths blow that there are spots neath that rainbow where the bravest soul dare not go. And I have yet to make up my mind if I could post such thoughts in a Blog, line by line, where others could journey, if they so pleased. Or if such things should be left safely hid in a journal tucked under the bed where none can expose them or see that my head is split in two pieces half light and bright while the other half is filled with fright. Where Goblins and Spooky things can abound if you look past the rainbow where there is much darker ground.

Now Shoe, you know we do not worry about topic changes, at least on any thread I start! I am like a Baptist Preacher that is forever chasing rabbits. Must be a trait I inherited from my Father.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmmm...ain't nuttin' frightening at the end of a rainbow! That's where many folks often wanna go! It must be sumpin' from them days of old (I hear tell there's a pot of gold)! If this is true then we've gotten to witness the treasures you own (and your brain's physical fitness)! Rainbows are arches with integrity structural and you are as strong as your rainbow (yep, you're nuptial)! I, too, have seen them fiery dragons and once thought they soon they would pounce, but I's able to gear up and load my wagons with ammo and thereby denounce, their pseudo intentions, their empty meanings so full, and 'twas then I realized these ain't no dragons, and they appear to just be bull!

Whewww...it just dawned on me that all things ain't what they appear to be. Dragon darkness that lurks in our minds can be lit up with lights of many kinds, and once our batteries are fully charged, and our determination is fully enlarged, the dragons are tamed and we see their meaning, and they whimper to the light of the rainbow, and we begin their weaning.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Shoe, don't think me brash but some of your prose just screams Ogden Nash. ;)

integrity structural...You're nuptial...

That's a classic!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Well written and well said, I'm delighted to hear all your dragons are dead. Your Lines written with such thought and style have certainly caused one dragon to smile and now that he looks like a silly old Bull in a pen I doubt he'll ever breathe fire again.

Elana, I think Windsurfer tried to pop into my head once but she kept getting curious about the red door where I hide things I don't want to deal with and gave up in the dusty cobwebs of the hallways. Guess I should have turned on a light so she could have found her way to the ballroom or brawl room which I am sure would have been nicer than the dusty areas. But if I had turned on a light and she still found no one was at home.... it would have been a wee bit embarrassing!

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Zany, I know that things are rough for you now with all the stuff that you have piled upon you. It is good to know that you have the ability to still laugh and "carry on" with the make-believe spirit that must keep you "chugging along". With spirit like that I can't see that anything could really get you down for long. Keep up the fun, Gal! We're here with you in spirit.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Thankyou Elena. A bit of silliness does tend to keep me from the Dragons... errrr.. Bulls.

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Could you send some rain down here again? :-)

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Sorry Kelli, We thought about sending some your way but decided it wasn't safe to send too much rain to L.A. because the freeways turn into slip and slides and the so many folks don't know how to drive on wet pavement. And since I still have friends and family in the region I feel safer if they are not exposed to too much rain as it also tends to bring the smog down from the sky and turn it to acid. ;~)

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

The sun shone so brightly today that instead of January you felt it was May. And with the sunshine came more great news, There was vast improvement in the Father of this Zanymuse! So now I am sitting with a grin on my face He fought the good fight and ran the good race and is now getting stronger by God's good Grace.

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Wonderful Zany. I am so glad he is getting better. Praise the Lord!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

YeeeHawwww, Z'muse's Father ain't in no Brouhaha! Such a relief for all involved and I'm sho'nuff hoping his problems are resolved! Time to give thanks and perhaps celebrate? So good to hear of this nice change of state!

(1)Relax now. (2)Smile. (3)Grin. Now start at ONE and begin again!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Thank you Elana and Horseshoe too I am feeling much easier in sprit it's true. And I am practicing your 1 , 2 and three but it's makin a grinnin' idiot of me.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

HAH!!!!....What a great picture! As "they" Say, YOU ROCK!

Grinnin' back at ya!

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Zany, There's another idiot smiling back at you glad your Father is feeling better. I'm up a little late can't sleep, thinking about small surgery I'm having on Thursday. I read all the comments on this thread. I do so much enjoy both you and Shoe such talent and wonderful expressions. Keep up the good work but it's not work if you enjoy it. Love ya'll. Bobbie

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Thank you Bobbie. I know what it is to not be able to sleep and there is no such thing as a "small" surgery when it is happening to you or a loved one.

I must admit that this thread has been a fun one for me and like many people here at DG I am a big fan of Horseshoes posts. Still Grinnin' from his instructions and will look forward to be able to grin at hearing your surgery went well On Thursday. So make sure that Jim remembers to post the news and lets us know how you are doing.

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Zany, your rain dance must be working. We got a trace of rain last night. It wasn't enough to do anything, but they weren't calling for any rain at all.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Now that is good news. I puffed with all my might and the local weatherman is trying to figure out what happened to our rain here. Sorry to hear it was so light by the time it reached you. ;~}

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Our rain came on Sunday, so dark and so dreary.
Then came the sun, so bright and so cheery.
I've planted and planted, dirt almost a ton,
Today it's now eighty, blue sky and bright sun.

Now, before you get angry and send a sharp note,
Remember, in summer is YOUR time to gloat.
When out in your gardens you have flowers galore,
I'm shut up in A/C, too hot for flowers, oh what a bore!
Pati
PS: I posted this the in wrong place, so if you run into again just put it down to a "senior moment"!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL We will blame it on the Troll!

Your summery weather, while it is still winter here,
really makes me cheer my Dear! Because, as you say, this summer when you are melting away, I shall be watching lazy bumble Bees, enjoying temperatures that hover about seventythree ;~)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

You may now leave comments at Zanymuse's blog. :)
