superbowl...need help in houston

i may need some help if anyone living in houston is willing to let one or two of my kids stay overnight at your home on the 31st. am taking a crew, maybe two, to work merch for the superbowl, and am having trouble finding affordable accommodations. am willing to pay for your help, and all my kids are wonderful, honest and trusting. we are leaving after all is done after the game, so there will only be one night we need to have a place to stay, and that's the 31st. i am staying with some friends in the woodlands, so as close to that would be awesome, or somewhere in between there and reliant stadium...cheapest hotel is outrageous...can anyone help me house these kids for the night? please let me know...thanks...meiyu.

Posted to the brug forum also. i will talk to my mom (who owns the house :-P) but we live really close to reliant and have 2 beds and 3 couches available. i'll get back with you tomorrow.

art_n_garden, how nice of you!! we ended up staying at my friends' mom's house...piled up in the livingroom on the floor, which was fine with us!! had a blast working, then laid in bed for 3 weeks trying to get my muscles and bones to function again!!! thank you so much for trying, and sorry i never made it back to read this til now!!!

hey, i couldn't write in the other thread for some reason, but i saw your post about your mom...i understand that completely...not sure i'd trust my kids' opinions either..haha! speaking of whom, my daughter is thinking about going to tech...what year are you? katie is only a sophomore in high school right now, but her best friend's sister is going to tech, so, of course, all her cronies wanna go now, too..haha!! you're a sweetie for trying, and i really appreciate it...come visit the river city sometime...i always have a place for my dg friends!!
prince is the awesomest ever!!! she introduced me to daisy, and we all had dinner together, and she gave me a clementine tangerine tree!!!!!! we are so excited (we eat about 6 apiece a day, you know..hahaha)

oh good ,i'm glad you found some place and it sounds like you had a lot of fun!! i hear from my parents that houston is just now getting back to normal. whatever that is! hehe
i am a junior, but this is my first year at tech. i transferred from university of oklahoma this past fall because i wasn't too happy there and my major wasnt offered. so far i really like it. people are really friendly, school is great, and i actually really like lubbock. i wish i had just come here the first time around :) yall should definitely come visit when it gets to be that time.

actually, we are thinking of visiting the school over the summer some time...will you stay over summer, or will you be going to your parents' house for break? it would be nice to have someone show katie around. katie wants to major in education...she wants to be an elementary school teacher. do you like it there? you came from a great school, too...must have good grades, eh?

i'll be up here alllll summer taking classes. i would love to show her around! that would be fun. i do like it a lot here. i think what i didnt like about norman and ou- the people werent very friendly and the town was too small, and the selection of majors was limited-- i would say tech has pretty much everything i want, ya know friendly people and enough selection of things to do that im much much happier here.
the education college is very good from what i've heard. i have to take a few classes through it because im art education. and so far i've enjoyed them.

heheh , that is something i did not know :) its a pretty area! my whole family, both sides, are from oklahoma. but it seems as though i belong in texas. i just would not recommend ou to anyone ;)

Art, one of my friends from work and her husband both graduated from Tech, are die-hard fans. My nephew started there last fall, says he likes it (I suspect in large part due to being "on his own"). Sorry I wasn't comfortable enough with forums earlier, I would have offered some space here- just north of The Woodlands. But it looks like it all worked out.

Maybe all us TX DG'ers should have a Roundup sometime, sort of in central TX. Hmm... Maybe we could go to Daves! :) (In the meantime, I'm planning on going to the Piney Woods RU, in Gladewater.)

i'm gonna have a round-up here in san antonio, maggiemoo, hopefully at my new house, but if not, i'll have it somewhere here, sometime early fall or late summer (september or october, we're thinking). art_n_garden already promised to come (you're gonna have to tell me your name, that's too long...) anyway, i will plan a trip to lubbock in the summer, and i'll bring my young artist too (conor, my 19 year old son is an artist at seaworld and fiesta texas, 3rd year now) and hasn't decided what he wants to do yet. he's taking art classes at san antonio junior college for now, building up his portfolio, and thinking of going to the art institute in houston next year, but i'm hoping he'll go to a real school since he's got a high school gpa of 96, graduated cum laude and it makes me sick he's going to sac and playing around now, but you know, you can't tell 'em what to do or they'll do the opposite (and frankly, i don't want either of them to move 800 miles away, either, so don't tell them how much you like it there...hahaha). i'll let you know when we get some tentative plans together to run the dates by you...i look forward to meeting you!!

sorry, everyone...got really busy when my mom's health took a bad turn. she's in peter's facility right now getting some rehab, and i have a break for now. hopefully, i will be getting some live-in or at least full time help soon. really sorry i didn't get back to you. hopefully i can stick around a bit. anyone know how to get in touch with ma vie?
