Who's it going to be. I am rooting for Green Bay. The Washington Redskins are my favorite team but Green Bay has always been my back up team. I've had to rely on them a lot the last 12 years.
I think the Colts will take the AFC. they are one of favorites too.
I love football. This time of year is just the best.

Super Bowl picks
The Colts sure played a fine game, didn't they? I'm not a football fan but grew to like the Colts when I lived in Baltimore and they were still there. Same for the 'Skins.
I spent a summer in Baltimore with my Dad. I guess that is probably how I came to like them also. My dad was the chef at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. I don't know if it is even there still. I was there right after they just updated the harbor area. That was really nice. I think it was 1978 or 79.
That was a great game. I was surprised to see the colts walk all over Denver that way.

howie, your wife don't like me no mo? all my emails are bouncing..did she ban me? ;)
Howie:
Re: Baltimore Colts. I started to work in Nashville in 1967. We had a woman in our department that was from Baltimore. She would take her vacation in Monday's so she could drive back to Nashville on Monday from seeing her beloved John Unitas. I don't think she missed a game. I guess that is how a real fan operates.
Al
Your e-mails are bouncing? To my gw address? Crud -- try again, because I've not changed any filters.
yes, gw addy..no go throughie
Howie they're hyjackin' yer thread. I'm an ancient Pats fan.I was offered tickets to next game, temp in the teens. I did it once when I was younger. Plus, if I watch the game, they lose. Everybody at my shop watches Nascar. Roundy-round racing doesn't do it for me. Football with my BIL who really knows stuff makes the game better. DW says see ya after the game. Howie I feel like I'm wierd in Nascar land. I miss Refridgerator Perry, Mini-Mac Herron. I know they screwed up thier own lives. Well, enjoy the games. Frank
Yeh they don't care about football. All though GW was sick this weekend and she did not have the strength to change the channel so she got to watch football this weekend. She even admitted that she likes the Packers. I will convert her before you know it.
I like nascar for about the first couple of weeks and then it just gets boring. Columbus Ohio just got an arena football team so maybe I will get a fix from that this winter and spring.
I don't think I would pass up tickits to a play off game. All though it is a lot nicer watching at home.
Thanks for your reply, Gotta go sleep. 5AM is too soon.
That is about my bed time. I used to have to get up a 4:30am. I'm glad those days are gone.
When I said I liked the packers, I was delirious. ;) I guess if I have to claim any allegience, it will be the Packers because (1) I like their uniforms (2) Favre sounds cool and (3) any fans who would brave that weather have to be all right.
See she is coming over to the dark side. She even knows the quarter backs name. Most women would stop at I like there uniforms. I don't think she was delirious I think she is catching the football bug.
Look, I was weak and vulnerable, lying on that couch in my stinky pajamas and wishing I could die. On the few occasions I did make an effort to watch TV, football was on and I tried to humor him. That's all it was, honest!
My case stands. She knows the name of the QB. That is more than just trying to humor me. See I know how to pull them in. Get her while she's weak and can't do anything. I will see if I can bring the bad cold home that is going around the office. If she gets that by the Super Bowl she ought to be mine.
But I didn't even know he was the quarterback when I mentioned his name. You hear those announcers say "Favre-this" and "Favre-that" enough, it sticks with you. I tell you, it's subliminal, a conspiracy!
Evil Laugh
Hey Howie, just found yer thread and I'm definately a Packer fan, they'll take it this year!

TC...
GW.... I gotta agree with Howie this time... not only did you know his name, you knew how to spell it! If you'd just heard it mentioned, you'd have probably mis-spelled it
;-) It's ok to admit you really do like football. :-)
My dad was proud to tell everyone that I attended my first football game at the ripe ole age of 4 days... my Uncles were Juniors in High School then. Both of them went on to play in College and then Coach HS Football. (They're twins)
Now, I'm raising the Buckeyes future Center/Nose Tackle who has been playing since he was 5. And trying to get my 6 year old to want to play :-)
I'm not so much into Professional football as College and of course Junior High Football is my favorite now! LOL
But.... I admit, I did start watching the Bengals again this season. :-(
Their training camp used to be in Wilmington, many summers were spent up there watching them practice. I have a picture somewhere of Boomer Esiason and Anthony Munoz (former Bengals) holding Eden when she was about 9 months old. :-) But, alas the Bengals Organization turned traitors on us and moved the training camp to Kentucky!
OK, I won't try to Hi-jack your thread anymore Howie.
I told GW that football season was almost over but I forgot. Columbus now has it's own arena football team. The Columbus Destroyers. Earl Bruce is going to be there head coach. He used to coach Ohio State. I will now have football through May. Don't tell GW though. Now there is only 2 1/2 months of the year that have a football void.

Green Bay is my pick for this year. Redskins next year. I am so excited. I just found out that the Redskins got Joe Gibbs to come back as head coach. They have not done anything since he has left. It will be interesting to see if he can pull them back together.

Howie let out this big "ALL RIGHT!" when I was in the other room and I thought maybe we'd gotten some big refund check or something in the mail. No, it was Joe Gibbs coming back to the Redskins. *sigh*
ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! Doesn't that make you happy?
My brains, his steel and your strength against sixty men and you think a little head jiggle is supposed to make me happy? Hmm??
Sorry -- I now return you to your scheduled NFL programming.
Edited to add: My apologies to people who are not The Princess Bride fans and have no clue as to why I just said that. ;)

LOL Kimberly!!!
BUT - my entire office has had running stream audio on all day long with the various local sports talk shows. My office is one Big Burgundy and Gold smile right now :)
Obviously, it's like a dream come true having Joe back - and Joe Bugle to boot!
Man I need to move. I have one friend here that is somewhat of a Redskins fan. He also likes Denver though. So much for that.
O.K. I will Bite!!!!!
I AM FROM "EAGLES" COUNTRY!!!!!!!
LOL
sue
Okay, I've stayed out of this conversation because I'm a Vikings fan and we all know what happened/always happens to them. But now that after today, it's all fair game... I'm going with the Patriots.
I have two close girlfriends and Lynn is a Packers fan, Peg is a Bronco's fan and I am sticking with the Vikings. We gathered at Lynn's house today to watch and now all of our teams are out. :(
Sue, the Eagles done good today!
The Colts looked pretty good Yesterday! Peyton Manning is an amazing player to watch. :-)
"Favre Fell Flat", so much for GB.
Colts & former MN coach Dungy will go the rest of the way.
JoanJ it's good to see there is still a Vikings fan left.
Bernie
Go Colts!!!!!Beat the Pats!! The cold is only in your mind, so Dungy says! Lou
Fundamental football at the NFL level says defense wins.Belichick is the master of the "D" so I'll take the Patriots even though sentimentally I like Dungy...
Well, I reckon I'll have to take the Eagles out of respect for the state I live in! (Their quarterback ain't to shabby either)
TC...
Donovan McNabb is destined to join Jim Brown, Floyd Little, Larry Csonka and the late Ernie Davis as great players from Syracuse if he doesn't get hurt. I was in high school at Vestal, NY when Davis played at Elmira Free Academy in the same conference. He was a super player and a super guy. tragic the illness that he developed.
What was Davis's illness kdad?
TC...
Ernie Davis died of leukemia at age 23. He had just signed with the old Cleveland Browns after winning the Heisman in his senior year at Syracuse. BTW my Vestal team beat EFA in football in Davis' senior (high school) year but I remember him as a basketballer. We played them twice and got walloped both times with Davis scoring huge points both games.
Thanks for the info kikisdad. What a tragic loss.
TC...
OK ya'll...you can tar and feather me for this, but my choice for Super Bowl is the commercials. LOL as I duck outta the way.
Me, too! Me, too!
At least the people thinking up the new commericals put in some effort!
Go commericals!
Bernie
