These lists get longer every time - seems more and more people are discovering the fun of gardening with us! Please join me in congratulating all these folks in reaching an important milestone, and through their presence, helping make DG a wonderful place to hang our (gardening) hats!
January anniversaries
I'm still very glad to be here, it's a great place and there are so many nice people here!
Happy anniversary to all of you this month, particularly our 3rd year folks. January of 2001 was a banner month for us - it's when we tripled in size and really started being a serious community. Prior to that, it was just a handful of us.
So, really, this is the 3rd year anniversary of DG really taking off in a big way!!
dave
Terry,
Thanks for all your hard work putting the list together, among
everything else you do for all of us here at DG's.
Dave & Trish,
Thank both of you for starting this site for our Wonderful Family of Gardeners & Friends.
Looking forward to many more years here a DG's.
Happy New Year & Anniversary to
Everyone!!!
Honeybee
Congrats, All!
Hard to believe it will be 3 years SOON for myself, LOL. My, how time flies when we're having such a good time!
Happy Anniversary to us all! It has been a wonderful 3 years for me. Whatever did I do with my spare time before I joined DG? Whatever it was, DG is more fun or I would remember it. (Please, no old age failing memory comments here! LOL) I have wonderful, wonderful memories of DG, that is for sure.
Happy Anniversary! Wow, so many names I've come to recognize, even though I've only been here since August.
Thank-you to Dave, Trish, Terry and all of the people who make this site possible. It's got to be the warmest, friendliest place on the web! Looking forward to sharing many good times with this gardening family.
Happy Anniversary to us all!
I hope we get to celebrate many many many more!
In one week, I'll have been here 3 years...it's hard to believe. At that time we all knew each other and there were only a few forums. What a community we've become!
Dave, you have put together a unique gathering of souls from around the world. We all share the love of growing things...each in our own way. That's one of the things that I love so much about this place...I have seen it grow from the tiny website with about 300 members, to the juggernaught it is today. Yeah, I know you like that word...just had to use it.
Thank you for giving us this safe community in which to gather. Thank you for keeping the peace when you'd rather not get involved. Thank you for loving this place as much as you do...it's easy to see how much you do love it by the way you take care of us.
Trish, thank you for loving us and this Garden you have helped to create.Thank you for sharing Dave with us for the long hours he's devoted to our needs. Your kindness and caring heart shows through in so many places here. I'm proud to count you as a friend.
Terry, your ideas and determination have inspired many of the wonderful features that we take for granted each day.I can't imagine the hours that you have put into our world here. It's certianlly better because of your dedication. Do you ever sleep?? I'm also fortunate to call you my friend. Thank you for that.
To all of my dear friends who gather here each day. I'm so glad we've got this place to meet. So many of you, I've met in real life, and I've made special friendships that will last a lifetime, even if the web fell apart tomorrow. The internet just makes it easier for us to communicate....but I've made friendships that go so much further than my keyboard. You know who you are.
To all of the newer folk who are just getting used to navigating this site and learning about us. You will get back from this Garden a harvest of what you sow in it.Treat it like a beloved garden that you want to see flower and fruit and you will reap bushels. I know that I have.
Happy New Year everyone!
Melody, how succintly you put what we all feel. Thanks. : )
More and more my life here in Dave's Garden reminds me of this quote:
"...a perfect house, whether you like food or sleep or story-telling or singing, or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all. Merely to be there was a cure for weariness, fear, and sadness."
J.R.R. Tolkien
Mega dittos, Melody. You worded that post perfectly. My goodness, your writing skills are superb! Is there no end to your talents?
