2004 is here!

May you get a clean bill of health from your dentist, your cardiologist, your gastro-enterologist, your urologist, your proctologist, your podiatrist, your psychiatrist, your plumber and the Income Tax. May your hair, your teeth, your face-lift, your abs and your stocks not fall; and may your blood pressure, your triglycerides, your cholestrol, your white blood count, and your mortgage interest not rise. May New Year’s eve find you seated around the table together with your beloved family and cherished friends. May you find the food better, environment quieter, cost much cheaper, and the pleasure much more fulfilling than anything else you might ordinarily do that night.May what you see the mirror delight you, and what others see in you delight them.

Cheers

Happy New Year!

Dinu, really like your great toast, wish it right back to you and everyone else in DG.

Sure looks like winter here. about 6 or 7 inches of the white stuff on the ground. Hasn't gotten above freezing since Christmas. My birds are really hungry. I feed about 2 gals. of wildbird feed or more each day. There are more than 200 Calif. quail, I have seen at least 10 Ring Necked Pheasants, half male half hens. And hundreds of House Finches, lots of House Sparrows, A dozen or so Goldfinches, 2 Chickadees, 2 Song Sparrows. They are very busy eating at all the feeders. Donna

Thanks everyone. The last quarter of 2003 was pretty hectic. For once, DG had been low on priority but now it is back to "normal"! Had been on a couple of tours involving my cricket - unfortunately we lost due to inconsistent performances from our team (official team). I had to lead the team on the second tour because the captain got his shoulder dislocated in the first tour. But it had been great fun, meeting friends who gather for the tournament.

Winter has not been too cold here this time. It dropped below 18 for a few days. On the whole, it is quite pleasant.

Haven't worked on the bird feeder. But I will go back to the thread and take the suggestions. Have to complete a few trades too. Some pending jobs like that have to be completed.

Dinu never an eaiser time to draw birds to your feeders than during a cold spell. All the little birds are on the move to find feed.Ernie

Rutholive did you seee male Gold finches?I see the odd female but never see males over here. Lots of Junco, varied thrushes, House wrens, Nut Hatches,Chickadees,English sparrows, black Birds, Red wing Black birds,The ugly starlings, A few Robins and now and again a Stellar Jay.

Wish I had some of your Quail for my yard I have a couple hundred Bob Whites and love to turn some loose to run all over. As long as it's not mating season they go back in their pen by themselves. If it is mating season those bad little boys and girls head across the road and don't come back from the woods.Ernie
