We're Moving !!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

I know it looks pretty desolate right now in the middle of winter, but this is hopefully where we'll hang our hats for years to come. DH is set on building ourselves so it's gonna take at least a year and a half but at least I can get the gardens started as I divide what we have now :)

It's hard to see in the photo but the back acreage is a combo of woods and pasture so we'll actually have some trees that are grown up!

This is going to be an interesting couple of years - LOL!

How wonderful you you!

I assume it is still in the rolling farmland around Frederick, which has always been a favorite area of mine.

Yes darius! We won't even be changing zip codes although we should be gaining several micro-climates :)

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Best wishs to you and your family. I'm sure building your own home will be an experience you will never forget.

Absolutely beautiful Dea! I'm so happy for you. Dh & I have done this a couple times. Property, build, etc. It's so much fun. I look forward to watching it. Please post pics as you progress! Congratulations!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Dea, what a nice property! Have you decided where to place the house yet? Back near the trees so you can grow shade plants better or in the sunshine so you can bask?

A grand adventure awaits you. Good Luck.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

How pretty Dea. Are those neighbors in the background there or is that barn on your property? I love the rolling mountains. I am from the Berkshires in Massachusetts and miss the mountains, even though there are some in KY, they aren't the same. :) Happy Day, Kathy

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Congrats Dea and so glad to hear you are not leaving the area!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Wow Dea! I am so envious! I really hope when we are ready to move, that I can find my new place FIRST too. I seriously doubt anyone else would know what to do with all my plants and I have nightmares about driving by and seeing them all tilled under and replaced by lawn! LOL I'd leave landscaping of course, but it would be neat to take some with me. Most of my plants came from trades or were grown from seed trades. If you were in a warmer zone, I'd be begging for a couple of acres. :) Well, ummm, how close are you to fresh sea food?? That might sway me. LOL

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

Looks like paradise! ((((((((((()))))))))))

North Tonawanda, NY(Zone 3a)

What fun you will have exploring the fields and woods to see what is growing there this spring and summer! Hope you find lots of pretty wildflowers and plants to enjoy.
