What is this years Christmas memory?

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

What will be the memory you hold dear from this Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas, we had lots of changes this year for Christmas,so lots of memories.I think this will be the thing I remember most from this year.

Yesterday at my MIL's I was off in the bedroom where they have the tree. I was sitting there sorting presents and saying a prayer. I ended it with Happy Birthday.(I hadn't realized I had said it out loud). My little great niece came in and had heard me say Happy Birthday. She wanted to know whose birthday it was. I told her I was saying Happy Birthday to Jesus , she looked at me in a way like well I knew that, and said we need a birthday cake.We didn't have any cake but I went a got a piece of pumpkin pie and found some birthday candles in a drawer and put them on the pie for her. I lit them and let her blow them out, and we sang happy birthday. Then she went around the rest of the day saying Happy Birthday Jesus. It was so cute.

Oh Peggy! What a neat story! One thing I will remember about this Christmas is one of the gifts dd gave me was a calender - all flowers, imagine that! - Anyway, when I unwrapped it, she had a post-it on it saying, I took off the cellophane bc I want you to look through it. I've left you a note. February 11 was completely outlined in red marker but nothing written in the date. I looked at her and she said, keep going. I got to July, my birthday, and a piece of paper falls out. She's taking me to see Rod Stewart on February 11. I bet you heard me screaming all the way up yonder! LOL... Her and I are avid Rod fans and have been to about 15 or so concerts. Even as he mellows in his old age with music, etc., we still enjoy him.

Christmas is a very sentimental time for me. I think we all remember our own childhood traditions, then the ones with our own children growing up, etc. Like you, we have December birthdays in our family too. But also, the whole story and joy of the birth of Jesus pretty much does me in. Wow! When the girls were growing up, we always sang Happy Birthdy to Jesus on Christmas too :-)

I would have to say that my favorite moment was when my daughter caught my brother and sister and I acting out some silliness we used to call each other "Obie" and pinch each other's tummy fat when we were kids. She looked at us like we were loosin' it, and laughed! I told her "Guess ya just had to be there Jen!!" 7 farm kids growing up come up with some pretty silly entertainment!!! ( We're all far from being kids now, so it was a step way back in time!!)

Other than that, the fact that my DH and my son spent all day yesterday in the woods, burning brush 'n stuff. Whatever guys do in the woods, but they both came back very happy fellows!! (Even men need time alone together!!)Legit

Richard, sitting in the rocker/recliner, cuddled under a Christmas quilt, eyes closed but a little smile stealing across his face whenever a little giggle would reach his ears or he'd hear Mom talking or he'd catch the sound of a touchdown coming from the game in the other room...

My husband's face when he opened the edger and realized he would no longer be the only homeowner on our street without a neatly edged lawn!

We had just the family...me, 2 DD's and their husbands...Grandson and his Lady...and one of his friends with no family....and my youngest grandson, Andrew...9 for dinner. After dinner we had close friends in for dessert and gift opening. The 14 of us had a lot of fun and laughter. Jo
