On a necessary vacation when we went to Chicago for DH's Family Practice Board Recertification test last year, I signed up for Wyndham By Request, which is free, and you get a few little special treats when you stay at Wyndham hotels...
a coke and a bottle of water chilled in your room when you arrive... quick check in and check out without having to go through dragging out your credit card and etc... the kind of pillows you want and blankets you like, etc. , a snack of your choosing... it's fun and free, what the heck?
so I got this email yesterday and they had this neat special...All-Inclusive Vacations in either Vallarta Mexico or Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas... all your food, tips and tax are included, with an ocean view room and activities and a $50 bonus per person for things like champagne or lobster dinners or activities done by the hotel plus Caribbean dancing lessons for free and the 2nd person is half price... only for Wyndham by Request members...
I suggest that you join it if you ever do ANY traveling and want a special rate. Their webrates are cheaper than most hotels unless you go the cheapest of all ($75 a night for a 3 star hotel)and they have softer beds, cleaner rooms, and just a nicer atmosphere, we find...
And no, I don't work for them, LOL.
Just thought I'd let you in on a secret... we've found it to be a way to feel like you're treated with more care and dignity without having to tip your brains out or spend more money than you have.
Since we have had such a grueling year I booked us a short vacation in the Bahamas for March (my birthday) :)
We can cancel 2 weeks before without losing anything and it only took 1 night's rate to hold it for that time.

A great thing to join
The travel industry is so competitive now, businesses are coming up with many neat ways to differentiate themselves. Thanks for the heads-up, Janie. :)
