Flu symptons??

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

This flu we are hearing about on the news that is making the rounds, what are the symptoms? Is there more than one strain? My youngest DD and I are coughing and running a slight fever. Is this the flu?

Denver, CO(Zone 6a)

Let's see. First my throat was a little scratchy. Then a mild cough and a slight fever, off or on. Then the worst muscle aches that I have ever have. I remember waking up, not having moved and feeling every muscle hurt like someone punched me. I had gotten the flu shot so the symptoms were not as severe. I was miserable. So I feel for those who get the flu and didn't get the shot.
If you have the flu, believe me you will know it within the next few days. Take care.

Sounds like it, we are drinking lots of fluid and sleeping. Yikes, I hope it isn't too bad, my DH doesn't need this.

Well, I do live in Colorado, where we seem to be getting it pretty bad, so perhaps you're getting a different strain. This one takes about 2 weeks to get over. Good luck!

Wow, Joann... sorry. This Flu has everyone worried, everywhere.

I just ordered a 2003 Flu Season concoction.... one of those off the wall things that I believe works even when most folks laugh at me. I took it last year, the 2002 Flu Season variety, and never got the flu.

I meant to order it sooner, but just never got around to it. Even if I get exposed before I get it, it's supposed to lessen symptoms and shorten recovery.

What is the concoction Darius? Lenjo, Dh & I both had the flu right at 26 years ago. our daughter was 2 weeks old, I was nursing, and we got "hit" with it big time. I remember being so sick I didn't even care if I died. Mobi's description is very accurate. Believe it or not, dd did not get sick and I continued to nurse her even though I only ate crackers and 7 up for about 3 days.

The Flu is no fun at all. Not much problem with it here yet, thank God. I hear it's real bad in other places. I do hope everyone comes thru OK.

vic,,, It's here: http://www.perelandra-ltd.com/AB1473/webpage.cfm?WebPage_ID=781&DID=8

You know from personal experience with me that I do "off the wall" things other people scoff at... LOL.

Aw come on Darius, I thought "I" was the queen of "off the wall" LOL....Thanks for the link, I looked at it but I'm still not sure what it is. Is it a powder you mix with water? vitamins? Did I not read far enough?

I have flu now, but I'm vaccinated so it does'nt hit so hard on me. Wel it's special the lungs and breathingorgans that gets infected. With me it hurts everywhere when I cough. I have high fevers (near to 40C) and I have to bring it down with special prescribed medicine because the ordenary stuff does'nt help so much, very heavy headaches and musclepain and very very tired...sleeping most of the time. It's on his way back now and I already have an appointment in hospital next week to check my lungs.

I'm sorry saya.
How are you doing Lenjo?

It is the flu, went to bed pretty early last night shaking as my temp was up not horrid but 100.5. Drinking lots of water. This morning I checked it was 102 but that was just getting out of bed where I felt really toasty. I took some AlkaSeltzer cold cough remedy and that broke my fever and I just feel kind of washed out. I don't get the achy joints like my hubby. The only other symptoms I am noticing is scratchy throat and cough and slight runny nose. Thanks for asking Mobi. My daughter is definitely feeling much better.Saya, I will say a little prayer you feel better soon.

Howie thought he had the flu last weekend, coming home from work very early Friday with body aches, chills and a fever. He spent Friday night alternately huddled under blankets with his teeth chattering and throwing off the covers because he was so hot.

He went to the doctor and found out he had a urinary tract infection; after a couple days on cipro, he felt much better. It's hard to say whether it was just the UTI that had him feeling so miserable, or if he had something else on top of it.

No fun, anyway!

UTI's are nasty and when it gets to the point that you are talking to God when your trying to pee and just a little comes out and burns like heck. On top of it you have to go every ten minutes. It sounds funny when your NOT going through it. "Please, if you help me get through this I'll never hold it again, I promise!" LOL. Yeah the fever and chills go along with a UTI. In MHO the two greatest things ever invented for modern living are aspirin and antibiotics!
