Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Kell sounds like the little fellas problem must be breaking your heart.
.....This may be worth a try...My vet has large birds and he has a peacock feather hanging in each cage for them to pick at. Supposed to discourage picking, swears it works ????
He said any large feather will do ,even a feather from a new duster.

I put an entire feather duster in his cage awhile back! He hated it. But maybe it overwhelmed him. Maybe I can get CC to send me some! But i donot want to expose him to any diseases. He has not been around birds sincehe left his siblings.

Larry, do yo know if it would be safe to put a peacock feather in with im??

thanks Shirley for the idea!!

Rose Hill, NC(Zone 8a)

Kell
it might of been to much...?

It looks a lot like my "Snowcome" but she hangs more out of the calyx. it's snow white and doesn't fade. Oh the perfume too.

Crestedchik, Karyn, otherwise known as CC. raises a lot of fancy chicks and she also has peacocks. I was thinking of asking her to send me a few. I imagine they would be fresh off the peacock. I do not know where else to get them. Then again I do live so close to Marin! LOL

thanks Larry!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Kell ,I'll send you as many peacock feathers as you want,do you want the regular or the whites?Long or short?
they loose the feathers in August so I have a semi fresh bunch. The older the feather gets the faster in disinigrates.I had a vase of small ones in a vase for 10 years and they finally started falling apart......

My 2 cockatoo's are scared of the peacock feathers but my Macaw and cockateils love them, but the 2's maybe just scared of alot of things cause they are still ajusting to their new home. The other birds have seen the huge bunches of feathers in vases so they are use to them......

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thnaks CC!! let me ask Baby which he prefers! LOLL Any iridescent green?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

There is irridesent green in the eye of the regular India Blue feathers
