Maybe you will meet me in Florida:)

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

No problem Molly. You could either fill it out as a student (I mean we're all learning here, right?), or we can get you in under BMC or Buried Treasures.

Chris

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks very much Chris, I've registered as a student. Will come along on Saturday as you suggested. Am very much looking forward to meeting you!!!!

Mitjo...If I still lived in Florida I would certainly make it a point to meet up with you and your family!! Jo

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

That's great Molly. Looking forward to meeting you as well.

We usually have some nice trays of various tropicals and perennials, so if you see something you like, just let me know. There will be some finished material in the booth as well. Some has to go back to where we borrow it from, but a lot of it will be sold or given away. You wouldn't believe what I come back with from these things.

My big one last year was a 6ft Aphelandra.

Hehehehhe Roadrunner, I would have been very happy to meet you:)

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

So Mitjo...can you tell yet if you will have a free day or afternoon while you're here? Maybe some of us can meet up with you. Bok Tower http://www.boktower.org/visiting/gardens.html would be a great place or if necessary we'll (I'll tell DH later LOL) drive over to Orlando.
Anyone else up for a Bok Tower adventure??

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

I could be there as long is it's not the TPIE days. It's about 35 minutes from where I live.

Lappeenranta, Finland(Zone 3a)

Hehehehe. Well, I am not sure about the boktower yet. You know. If I would go alone, it would be different, I would visit in every single garden. So. I am not sure am I going to bok tower. But I will visit in Fairchildgarden, in Miami http://www.fairchildgarden.org/ and if someone is interested to meet me in there, it shouldnt be a problem.
I would be happy to visit in Bok Tower. And I'll think about it:)

High Springs, FL(Zone 8b)

Count me in, Bok Tower or Leu Gardens, or wherever. We can just meet in the hotel lobby for a few minutes if that's all the time you have, Mitjo! It would be a shame for you to come all this way without meeting a few DG'ers.

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Allright AmaryllisGal!
Fairchild won't work for alot of us...Miami is a 5 hour drive for us, one way, but Orlando is only about half of that. You may get to meet some in south Florida and some in central Florida, Mitjo. Lucky you!

Lappeenranta, Finland(Zone 3a)

Floridian. I think it would work better fo you than me. I come thousand mails, and you come few hundred mails. Heheheheh.
Well, wait and see.

Lappeenranta, Finland(Zone 3a)

Yippii:) This is the day. It is 8.48AM in Finland right now. After 1.30H we'll drive to Vantaa, it is big city close to Evert:) And there is the biggest airport in Finland. We will stay there couple hours, eat something, and buy something;):D Then we will go to airplain, which leaves 2.50PM. Then we will be in the plain those nice ten hours, and eat that great food;)
Then we will land to Miami airport 6.15PM local time. We have rented a car, it will wait us on the airport, we'll take that, and drive to hotel, which is pretty close to airport.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Mitjo, welcome to Florida, Sorry the weather has gotten so chilly. It will be too cold for swimming at 42 degrees. But our weather is better than most right now, even if a bit cold. Enjoy your trip.

Welcome to Florida Mitjo.

Couple of rules.

Though 42 f may seem like summer to you, it is unacceptable to be seen at the beach in anything less than a parka. Don't try to pretend you weren't there. You'll be the only one with a sun burn in January.

Gator tail is the only part of the gator acceptable to eat. Even at that, make sure it's fresh. Every part of Grouper is acceptable, and if you leave with out trying either, you left a big taste of Florida behind.

While at Disney parks, do not wear cameras around your neck or carry large flags. You will be surely deported as a Japanese/Brazilian terrorist.

Have fun.

Chris.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Great to hear you got there Mitjo. Sorry I was asleep by the time you flew over us ;) Did you see our house anyway? Hahaha :D

Mirja came from Las Palmas yesterday, she called me last night - didn't find a Spanish flag she said :(

Seen many flags there?

Spring Hill, FL(Zone 9a)

Evert, if you guys want to see flags you should visit New York City and stop by United Nations headquarters.

Crossville, TN

Mitjo...I am thinking of you as you tour our lovely state of Florida!! To me the best place in Orlando is Sea World!! Jo

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Mitjo,

There is one thing I would not miss: to swim with dolphins! This is possible at Key West. Please think of me if you have the chance to do it!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

They have a swim with dolphins in Key Largo as well, $75.00 per person. Much closer to Miami than Key West.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

WHo would stop at Largo and miss the experiece of Key West?? There is a night & day difference between the 2....LOL
=)

Welcome to Key Largo Aug.,2003

We came back from FL yesterday:) We had a great visit! We visited in really nice places:) We didnt go to Key West, my dad checked it, and he said that because the road is kinda bad, it would take five hours to get there:( Well, maybe next time;) Heheheh. Miami was great, totally different than I thought. It was huge, and beautiful. We drove through Miami downtown couple times, and buildings were huge, and really beautiful. Most of the time (when we were in Miami) we spent in Miami Beach (the island near Miami coast) our hotel was there. The beach was nice, and water was warm. And there was really great plants. People were really, really nice. Totally different than in Finland. They came to talk with me without no reason, and it was really nice. Like, when I walked on one beautiful street, drinking cola (Time was 8am) one man just came there and said "You drink cola on morning", I just "Yeah, it is good". He said "me too" and left, and other thing was in one store, one man just came to talk with me something...It was really nice.

Then we drove to Disneyworld. Our hotel was on Disney area. The area was huge. There were big highways inside of it. I think it was size of Lappeenranta:D Well, when we wanted to go somewhere, like in Animal Kingdom, we just took a bus, busses were free, and they drove all day long:) Then, after four days, we drove back to Miami, and flew back to Finland. But security check was kinda awful, heheheh. We had to took of all jackets, shoes etc. But I didnt pass it at first, I didt couple times, but still the machine made the sound. Then I put me into area. Where they kept me a short while, then one man told me to stand on X position and he checked me with other kind of machine. And then we found out that the metal was in my belt...Geese:D Heheheh. I didnt think it was it because I passed security check in Finland just fine, with me belt and jewelery:)
Heheheh. The trip was great, and I hope we will do it again. I will post some pictures later:) Heheheh.

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Mitjo, I'm so happy to hear what a great time you had in Florida. Were you able to collect some seeds?

IMHO, traveling is the best spent money! Although you spend your savings, you come home much wealthier than before.

Lindale, TX(Zone 8a)

Mitjo, so glad that you got to come to the USA. Wish I could have met you, but Texas is a long way from Florida, although I have driven there. I hope that your experience in the US airports with security check was not too bad. It is a hassle to fly in the US these days, but all for a good purpose. Keep us posted with more stories and pictures. And next time come to Texas.
Bill

Lappeenranta, Finland(Zone 3a)

Heheheh. Ursula, I collected too much seeds and cuttings. I have to buy a lot of soil soon:)
;)

Etexbill, true, TX is a bit too far away from Florida, hehehe.
My experience wasnt too awful, hehehe. They did it just fine, I just wondered do I look like bombman:D

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

(((Mitjo))) LOL!
