I got this interesting weather advisory just a few moments ago...
SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THE GALE CENTER IN THE FAR EASTERN ATLANTIC HAS ACQUIRED TROPICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND IS NOW TROPICAL STORM PETER...THE 16TH NAMED STORM OF THE 2003 ATLANTIC HURRICANE SEASON. OFFICIAL RECORDS INDICATE THAT THE LAST TIME THERE WERE TWO TROPICAL CYCLONES OF AT LEAST TROPICAL STORM STRENGTH IN DECEMBER
WAS 1887.
Strange to have these storms in December, the season is 'officially' over November 30th!!
Another Tropical Storm!!
Wow...that is strange. Wonder if it's possible to become a hurricand this time of year?
Tonight's news said that "Peter" was headed North! Thank God! I have been in Fl almost 18 months, but I will definetly be on 95 headed back to NE Ga if storm heads this way! LOL
TS odette passed by us last weekend got two full days of rain but no high winds. Haiti got most of her.
This time of year the flow takes them north and east into the Atlantic and away from the US. I'm sure the waters are to cold this time of (this) year for a hurricane to develop but even TS formation now is very strange
