This is my Mom's birthday and I feel really blue. She passed away almost 2 years ago.

Those kinds of anniversaries can be very hard to take. Here's a hug from me! ((((((((HoniBee))))))))

You sure have my understanding, Honibee, here is a little extra squeeze from someone who lost her mom many years ago when my dd's were babies. She is still with you, I think they are closer than ever.

Honibee, on clear nights DW goes outside to talk to her mom. She is one of those stars up there that you never noticed before. Frank.

So many memories to look back on and such a wonderful time when she was here.......My Grandmother was my MOM and she left about 7 years ago. I can still hear her voice and see her smile. But best of all I have all the memories to go back through and reflect on the things that were. I still miss her and wish I could talk to her. (((((HUGS)))) to you HoniBee.....and another ((((hug))))

Just caught this thread, but want to give hugs also. My Mom's birthday was Dec. 8th and she also passed away two years ago, so it's a hard day for me, too. She would have been 82 that year.

Both of our Moms shared a sad experience, Honibee. Pearl Harbor was bombed on your mother's birthday, and Congress declared war on my mother's. It was something she always thought about on her special day.

I lost my father on Dec. 17, 1997. Thank goodness we had all just gotten together for Thanksgiving, I am so thankful for that. But I think of him, especially more at Christmas. It is always a bad time to lose someone, but somehow it seems worse at the holidays. And now this year we are dealing with the loss of a grandchild. I wish all peace this Christmas. GW sent me an email the other day with a beautiful quote. If you don't mind GW, I will copy it here....

"God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December."
-- J.M. Barrie

Think about it, even in the midst of sadness we have something to be thankful for. If we can't have our loved ones, we have been blessed with memories.

Merry Christmas to all.
With love,
Kathy @ Misty Meadows Farm
