We live just outside Tampa. All of our plants, and our lanai for that matter, get these spider webs all over them. About three weeks ago, started spraying plants with an organic disease and bug spray, but seemingly to no avail yet.
Any advice on getting rid of the webs and whatever is causing them?
Thanks :-)
Help With Spider Webs
I read on a forum that tomato plants deter spiders. Maybe you could hide a tomato plant behind your other plants?
I don't know what a lanai is, but if the webs are quite small, lift the leaves of your plants and see if you can see some tiny reddish/brown dots. If so, the plants have spider mites.
One of the more effective ways of getting rid of spider mites is to keep the humidity up around the plants, spider mites love dryness. Place the plants on saucers of gravel and water or simply put in a few bowls of water inbetween the pots and keep them topped up. Before you do that though, wash the affected plants and rub off the mites.
Well a lanai, in this case, is a screened in, concrete patio. As far as dryness is concerned, not in Florida for sure, but appreciate the response. :-)
Thanks
