What is your favorite Christmas song? I know it's hard to pick just one, so you can list a couple.
My favorite is "Hark the Herald Angels Sing", particularly the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th verses. Close seconds are "Oh, Come, Oh, Come Emmanuel" and "I Wonder as I Wander".
Your Favorite Christmas Song
Porky Pig singing "Blue Christmas"! :>)
Elvis's song, Blue Christmas! Elaine
"Silent Night" and "The Little Drummer Boy." Man, it's not easy to pick a favorite here. I don't like what I call "secular" Christmas music. Stuff like "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." Just my opinion, which I am sure is not worth much:-)

1. Ukrainian Bell Carol
2. "Christmas Eve in Sarajevo" by Savatage
3. Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer
These are the ones I enjoy the most.
Cheri'
All Through the Night
Sister Mary had but 1 child
Silver Bells always kind of brings a tear to my eyes. Don't know why.
Oh, Holy Night
Mary, Did You Know?
White Christmas
And I hate "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" - - DH torments me by playing that song over and over. LOL Nat
Since we can pick a few I'd say Silent Night, O' Holy Night, and Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. I have music box Christmas cd's and I love to listen to them. My DH doesn't mind those, but when I play my Christmas cd with the Three Tenors I know that it will run him out of the house so I can wrap his gifts! :o)
Do You Hear What I Hear and Silent Night have always been favorites of mine.
Deb
Silver Bells & White Christmas
Silver Bells, because I have always lived in a city.
What Child is This
I'll Be Home For Christmas, even though it makes me sad.
Pati
My favorite is O Holy Night. I love all the Manheim Steamroller Christmas music.
I can't pick just one! I love them all. The secular and non secular, the funny, the sad, the songs of worship and joy. They are all favorites that add a different aspect to a wondrous season.
And those of you that like "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" should also enjoy "Grandpa got run over by a beer truck".
This morning I find myself singing (well I call it singing) "Percy the Puny Poinsettia" interspersed with "Silent Night"
my favorites have to be white christmas and Oh holy night
My favorites: White Christmas (sung by Bing Crosby); Mary, Did You Know?; O Holy Night; All I want For Christmas is my two front teeth (there was a time that's all I wanted)...and my favorite as a child....I'm Gettin Nuttin for Christmas ....Also, when I was about five years old, my now dearly departed aunt taught me her rendition of Away in the Manger.
:) Kathy
Oh Holy Night, Mary Did You Know?, and Two Step 'Round the Christmas Tree!!

Your all I want for christmas-jim reeves!
I love all the music in "the Grinch".
White Christmas by Bing Crosby and I'll Be Home For Christmas are my favorites even though they make me tear up sometimes.
I had a thread on this subject a couple years ago.
My favorites are: **not in any particular order**
Halleluia Chorus from Messiah
Silent Night
Mary Did You Know (only sung by Mark Lowry)
Joy To The World
Bells Caroling
Twelve Pains of Christmas (absolutely hysterical)
"Beautiful Star of Bethlehem"
Oh Martha,
You are a woman after my husbands own heart....
You're a mean one Mr. Grinch!
His absolute favorite animated show this time of year and one of mine too. We never get tired of watching it. The lyrics to the songs in that classic, are classic.
As for songs, there is:
Little Drummer Boy
O'Holy Night
Ave Maria
The Chipmunks Song
And last but not least, "I'll Be Home For Christmas". It always makes me cry for those who cannot be here.
I used to sing with a special Messiah choir. If you want to sing a hard piece, sing Handel's Messiah. We sang with the Louisville Orchestra. It was exciting to say the least and we did it every year for the soldiers at Ft. Knox. I haven't done it in about 5 years, I bet they will be doing it this weekend or next at Ft. Knox. The commander always puts on a nice spread afterwards for all of us. I should get back into it again. BTW, I am soprano....If you know Handel's Messiah, you will know why I said that. :) I loved it. Y'all have listed all my favorites!

For some reason this year I got hung up on the Grinch too. I bought a talking Grinch off ebay and have been scouring the house for the movie. But, it doesn't appear to be here anymore. :(

"Silver Bells"
"It Came Upon a Midnight Clear"
"What Child Is This"
"Joy To The World"
"Silent Night"
Have a Blessed Christmas everyone!

O Holy Night
Mary Did You Know
White Christmas
All of the above and some not listed........LOL

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day. Longfellows poignant afterwar poem set to music, and Mary Did You Know makes me cry every time I hear it.
So many people are mentioning "Mary, Did You Know". I have never heard or heard of that one. Is it new?

Mom used to put on a Christmas album from Firestone. We usually put on John Fahey's Christmas album. Shoe, listen to "Bob&Tom" show for Porky singing Blue Christmas.
I to love the sacred songs of Christmas that remind us of what we really are suppose to be doing on the 25th of this month. Christ(the Annointed One)+Mass(a celebration). It is to be a time of celebrating the arrival on earth of the Annointed One-JESUS-as a human being to redeem each individual sinful human being from eternal damnation as a result of sin in the world. Actually we should be celebrating it every day of our lives and bringing HIM glory.
It is so sad to see what has happened to the tradition of the wonderful monk, Saint Nicholas. If he could come back and see what has been done to his memory, he would be angry as well as disappointed in people who call themselves true followers of JESUS.
Remember: If you want to say "Merry Christmas" do so. Forget "Enjoy the hollidays". You can't mention Christmas in cards? How about "Happy Birthday Jesus"! I prefer tradition over PC. If you don't celebrate Christmas turn in your paid day off. and work that day. Sorry, just VENTING. Frank.
O Holy Night
Ave Maria
Hallelujah Chorus (I am a baritone forced to sing tenor, so I know what you mean!)
I'm also tired of the PC "Happy Holidays" from my clients; go out on a limb and wish me a "Merry Christmas"!
