Finally, I'm back!

Bethelridge, KY(Zone 6a)

Hi gang!

We finally got settled here in Kentucky! Boy, it seems like it took forever to get everything down here from NH. We had a lot moved by moving van plus I made four trips hauling trailers (2 boats, a camper and two trips with a utility trailer). We just got on-line again and renewed my DG subscription so you'll be hearing from me now and then. We love it here!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Big Red, Where is Bethelridge? I have never heard of it. This is a fellow New Englander (Mass) that moved to Kentucky also... love it...Been here 16 years. Glad you made it back here safely. Kathy @ Misty Meadows Farm

Bethelridge, KY(Zone 6a)

Kathy, Bethelridge is a small farming town about a 45 minute drive northwest from Lake Cumberland (near Somerset)or east of Liberty, the capital of Casey County, which Bethelridge is part of. We bought 17 acres with about 10 acres of field back in May. The climate is so different down here, I guess I'll have to learn to garden all over again. Can't wait to get started!

Thanks Lisa (good to see you again also), Thanks MaryE !

Actually, it has been colder here than in New England in recent days. My family tells me how it was 57 Friday and we were sitting at 29 and snowing...brrrr.

Big Red, if you are ever in the Louisville area, look us up, we are located on the Ohio River about 40 miles west of L'ville.

Snowhermit, weathers just getting tolerable down here, forty's during the day, nice sweatshirt weather! I'm a little surprised, I was born and raised in NH and don't really miss it (just my family and all the friends I've made over the years). I love it down here! Got my first KY deer a week ago, we're allowed 4 here in Casey County. Nice to see you again!

Zanymuse, Thanks for the welcome! I can't wait for my first KY garden!

Thanks Mystic! Hope to meet you soon!

Melody, I can see why you're so proud of KY, it's beautiful and the people ARE so very friendly, we have some great neighbors!

Hey there Big_Red! And welcome to Kentucky! You'll love it there, once you get used to the summer humidity KY has!

All my family live in Green County, not to fur from Casey County. I moved here in '88, still visit my family quite often down in the ol Bluegrass state.

Congrats on yer first KY deer! The season just opened here on Monday. I've been out once, will go again on Saturday.

TC...

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Hey congratulations Big Red on getting your deer.
Forties during the day? It never got above 6º today here.
You lucky dawg. :)

Bethelridge, KY(Zone 6a)

TC, good luck on your deer hunting, a lot of deer in Pennsylvania. When I lived up north we used to go there bow hunting, almost always got a least one. We hunted in Tioga county (on the northern border of the state) and I usually saw 5 or 6 deer every night from my stand although it's tough to get one close enough for a bow shot.

snowhermit, brrrr! I don't miss that at all!
