I can't believe I agreed to this...

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Dishtowel exchange....I never take part in any "mail out stuff" like this. However, my good friend begged me to help her out. It is a dishtowel thingy, you mail out 1 towel and are supposed to get about 35 back. I am in need of 6 folks who want join in. Please email me if you are interested. The first 6 folks (if I get that many..lol) will be on the list. I will need your address. Please, if you email me, put on the subject line "DISHTOWEL". The rules are: you mail out one towel and a letter 6 to friends. Please, only respond if you are truly going to send out a towel, that way no one gets messed up. Thanks!

Now this one takes the cake - a dish towel pyramid scheme! :) Have fun!

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

Another variation on the pyramid scheme... won't work if someone "breaks the chain"... but dishtowels?!

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

*sigh*

I think I am going to give her back the letter and tell her I am not going to do it..after all, if I have more dishtowels *shudder* it might lead to housework..

Albany (again), NY(Zone 5b)

too bad there isn't a house cleaning pyramid scheme. You do 6 hours and get 36 hours in return! :)

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

hey! now we are talkin!!! I am all over that idea!

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

My mother use to do this stuff many years ago before it became ILLEGAL if it is done thru the mail. I think she got lots for her efforts.

I just got mail from my friend few days ago and my DH said don't trust so, I email to her not intresting so other friend had that long time ago and she did not recieve kitchen towels much so she gave up and not doing this anymore.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Lisa, Not that I need to do something to get something in return, but I have done so many of these and have never received anything. I wish I could help you out, but even if I did do these things, Christmas might not be the best time to start one of these. I'd tell your friend to try again in the Spring.

Leaf, it is only illegal if you send money through the mail, to the best of my knowledge.

Happy Day,
Kathy

Mini this lot comes with a dock and a boat.If you get the best lot it comes with a green house.

Trust me a lot for your money.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Well, after reading all the above, the offer is null and void. I will bring her the letter back and stick to my original answer to her which was "thanks for thinking of me, but no, I can't do it"...

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Lisa don't let my opinion sway you I have just been rooked to many times in my life after giving the biggest pc of pie to a stranger. You may know the people you send to but you don't know the others. Ernie

P.S. I still give the pie I just watch the money and have made it my mission to not be swindled.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Lisa...
I am glad you don't do it. =)

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Lisa, I am glad that you are turning it down, dish towels or not-you probably have your hands full, like most of us; and do not need anything more in your dishrack!!

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Lisa, check with your local post office about the legality of chain letters, etc. And that is just what this is-a chain letter. Anything that goes thru the postal service comes under their jurisdiction. Pyramid scams are also illegal.
